More than two font in a plot
Hi there,
I am a Chinese R user. I hope to display Chinese character in a plot,
and than save it in PostScript format. I have read the article titled
"Non-Standard Fonts in PostScript and PDF Graphics", especially the
section about CJK fonts. I also tried the code:
> pdf("chinese.pdf", width=3, height=1)
> grid.text("\u4F60\u597D", y=2/3,

Unable to save a plot containing Chinese (two-byte) Characters (PR#9201)
Full_Name: Pavel Stranak
Version: 2.3.1
OS: Mac OS X
Submission from: (NULL) (195.113.20.81)
Whenever I draw a plot containing Chinese character, it draws fine on screen,
but never saves to a file.
It does not matter, whether I first draw it on screen and than save or draw
straight to pdf.
It is also all the same, whether the characters are in label or in the plot
itself (via "pch=..."

Ask for advice on exact requirements to fix #699 mixed CJK numbers
I am working on "#699 Better tokenisation of mixed CJK numbers",
and have implemented a partial patch of Chinese for this ticket.
Current code works well with special test cases and
all tests in xapian-core could still pass.
But I'm confused with exact requirements of the question,
for how much we could pay with performance on enabling more cases,
and if there are better methods to

graphic device MetaPost
Hi all,
By default, MetaPost passes all text through TeX. This has the
advantage of allowing essentially any TeX symbols in titles and labels.
It give us, who use the multibyte character in ordinary communication,
much convenience. Gnuplot has fulfilled this function, and it give me a
deep impression for I could use Chinese character in plots with a minor
modification to the MetaPost file.

plain text in Chinese can not be set
Hi there,
According to ?par, 'font' is an integer which specifies which font to
use for text, that 1 corresponds to plain text (the default), 2 to bold
face, 3 to italic and 4 to bold italic.
When I test Chinese character in pdf(), I found that 1 to bold face, 2
to italic, 3 to bold italic, 4 to symbol. and I don't find how to set
plain text. In the following code, the font to use

Chinese, Japanese, Korean Tokenizer.
Hi,
I am looking for Chinese Japanese and Korean tokenizer that could can
be use to tokenize terms for CJK languages. I am not very familiar
with these languages however I think that these languages contains one
or more words in one symbol which it make more difficult to tokenize
into searchable terms.
Lucene has CJK Tokenizer ... and I am looking around if there is some
open source that we

Chinese segmentation
hello, I have finished reading the papers, and i think it is time to design
my project.
First step will be determine the input characters are Chinese. i see the
past post that cjk-tokenizer is just dealing with UTF-8 and unicode, but i
see some other code system such as gbk and big5. i am wondering that should
i just deal with UTF-8 and unicode?

Broken wiki
Hi all,
I've made a minor change (changed one CJK character) on
https://wiki.centos.org/zh-tw/SpecialInterestGroup and
https://wiki.centos.org/zh/SpecialInterestGroup , and now the whole
CentOS wiki is broken.? Can someone undo the changes to fix the wiki?
I've maintained the wiki's Chinese translation for 7 years, and this is
not the first time the same thing has happened to

tags in comment field - why?
Well, my last question about this was in the middle of other stuff, but
it's a basic one: why put tag info in the comment field at all? Why not
use the XML field that's already there? It gives the flexibility needed
to do things like translated tags easily, and keeps tag info in the same
format as other data--potentially simplifying editors which read other
types of metadata.

non ascill characters in plots. no alternative but plotmath?
A student entered some data with text characters like epsilon and
alpha. On her Windows system, the Greek letters did not display
properly in a plot. There were some ordinary ASCII instead.
I asked her to send me the code so I could test. For me, the plot
looks ok on the screen.
Format1 <- c(320,500,700,1000,500,320,700,500,320)

Apply the google summer code (additional idea)
Hi all:
As I have gone through the The Xapian-devel Archives, it seems many people
would like to do the project "weight schemes" and few would like to do the
CJK project.
I am a native speaker of Chinese and I learned a little Korean and Japanese,
so if possible, I would like to apply this projects too.

GSoC - Improve Japanese Support
Hi there,
My name is Julia Wilson and I'm a grad student in Computational Linguistics
at Brandeis University. As a GSoC project I'm interested in improving
Japanese language support, and I had a couple of questions for the
application I'm putting together.
I know Japanese - I'm not a native speaker by any means, but I'm pretty
good - and I'm really interested in the

How to add Asia token analyzer to ferret simply?
Hi,David
Can you give me an example of how to add analyzer to ferret to Asian
languages?
My web application will have to support multi language search, which
means, for example, both Chinese and English will be searched through the
form.
Currently,I have decided to use the simple token principles, which means
that every Chinese character will be a token, although this is not so
well in some
