similar to: New update problems

The docs in http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/docs/ do not reflect yum of today ie the yum plugins. Where can updated yum docs be found? By browsing lists such as fedora-devel, centos one can see how the plugins have "stumbled in" but newbies/anyone wanting to pickup on the new features has nothing to read. Note there are yumex docs at the above location but my query relates to yum $

trying to install octave from epel onto centos 5.2, and getting dependency errors. only place I could find this RPM was in epel, which I 'thought' ran on native rhel5/centos5 without requiring any other repos, but I guess I'm wrong?!? google tells me libhdf5 is some sot of 'heirarchial data format' library, whatever that means. # yum install octave Loading

There were a lot of error messages (from sbin/ldconfig ?) about 2 files, in usr/lib/lib ending in .so "is not an ELF file - It has the wrong magic bytes at the start." All, Has anyone else had a problem with the CR repo on a 6.4 or 6.5 system? I have a test VM that has the CentOS6 CR repo enabled and it recently (well a week or so) started having dependency problems. It's choking on dependencies for ca-cerfificates. Obviously there aren't any CR packages yet for 6.5 so a zero package count and empty directory on the mirror [0] are legitimate. But
