R doesn't recognize utils functions, such as arrayIndex( )
Hi all,
When I called arrayIndex(20:23, dim=c(4,3,3)), it says "Error: could not
find function "arrayIndex"in R". So I called ls("package:utils") to see the
functions inside:

[2] "adist"
[3] "alarm"
[4] "apropos"
[5] "aregexec"
[6] "argsAnywhere"

Cross-Machine COM-Calls under Wine...
are working now, using our own implementation of a COM-RPC-Server.
If you want to test a Server/Client-Pair - here's our free Download:
www.datenhaus.de/Downloads/dh_RPC.zip
For a successful test under wine, you have to Install
the Redistributables of an actual VB6-Runtime
and some ADO-Distributable >=2.5 first.
I've tested the whole thing under a Debian-Sid with a somewhat

Yum/Update anomolies: not a problem?
Today, got a wild hair and decided to check the update logs.
I don't know why I want to destroy my perfectly reasonable sense of
complacency at my advanced age... OOPS! Humor, sorry, retracted.
Anyway, after googling and reading about half the posts related to the
two sets of messages below, I have reached the tentative conclusion that
this is not a major problem. Is this assessment correct?

Rsge: recursive parallelization
In principle, I'd like to be able to do something like this:
sge.parLapply(seq(10), function(x) parLapply(seq(x), function(x) x^2))
In practice, however, I have to resort to acrobatics like this:
sge.options(sge.remove.files=FALSE)
sge.options(sge.qsub.options='-cwd -V')
sge.parLapply(seq(10),
function(x) {
sge.options(sge.save.global=TRUE)

I am trying to use yam to create a repo based on the 4.4 CDs. I have
copied the contents of the CDs to /var/dist/CentOS-4.4-i386. No

R-beta: Printing documentation for R and all packages installed
Dear R gurus and users,
in order to provide the local users of R with a printed copy of the
ample documentation provided with R and the optional packages
installed, I have introduced a minor change to the
R/doc/manual/Makefile.
Using GNU find, GNU sed, and features of GNU make, the LaTeX
documentation found in the subdiretories of .../R/library/ is copied
to .../R/doc/manual, and appropriate

gotten the same result, OS in question is Windows XP, the package involved

CentOS Errata and Bugfix Advisory CEBA-2005-0723-001
This fix is just more trademark and logo reduction in the up2date and

references to the upstream provider removed and color/logo changes made.
After installation of the new rhn-applet package, please stop and

RHN Up2date Cruft: can I dump it?
Got part 1 - xx of back up working, so figured it's a good time to look
for stuff to jettison... casually of course. Like paperwork,
documentation, ... it's low on the priority list with GB so cheap these
days.
Anyway, 42M in /var/spool/up2date. Headers and such. I use only yum
after my first month or so of CentOS. Can I dump that and similar non-
config stuff?
Or does it have some

rhn-applet-gui
After doing the updates, my yum and my up2date both tell me the system
is totally updated, and it is ... however, my rhn-applet says there are
781 updates ... and it lists as updates packages with exactly the same
version ... and even some packages with older versions.
Any Ideas?
The rhn-applet is: rhn-applet-2.1.4-3.centos.1
Thanks,
Johnny Hughes

testing puppet with rhn serial key
Hello everyone.
Quick question, I am wondering if someone else is using puppet to ensure
that a server is a part of a correct RHN channel.
I know that I can set it up so that every time puppet runs it tests to
ensure that the repository is correct, however that seems rather dirty to
me.
What I would like is to either have facter or a file which would trigger
run only if modified. Something like
