Hi, I've got a HP 380 G2 which is running RHEL AS 3 Taroon update 1. The current smp kernel 2.4.21-9smp is booting with a HPinitrd image. Mostlikely generated with the HP proliant Service Pack for RHEL 3. Now if I migrate this system to CentOS 3 and a new kernel will be installed ,will that work ? I have several RHEL3 WS machines that were installed here running as servers and their RHN subscriptions were never kept up. Now that I have become responsible for them I would like to move them to CentOS as I can keep them updated as needed. Some of them I can simply migrate to new machines, but a few I can not. I did a "yum groupremove Java" and that failed "somehow". Yum listed all group members as "erased", but some rpm packages failed because of missing config files or so.
