(XEN) Platform timer appears to have unexpectedly wrapped 10 or more times.
Hi,
Sometimes, seemingly randomly, long-running Xen domains, using clocksource
xen, have their clock shift by ~3000 or ~36000 seconds, often with the dom0
complaining about clocksource tsc. The number changes if the hypervisor is
explicitly told to use clocksource=pit, but it still happens. It doesn''t
seem to be particularly hardware-specific.

samba4 missing group membership with getent group
Hi Samba users
using samba 4.0.6, having /etc/nsswitch.conf that use winbind,
<getent group> does not display the group members.
to reproduce that : (my domain is test3.ch)
samba-tool user add u1
samba-tool group add g1
samba-tool group addmembers g1 u1
<id u1> returns :
uid=3000026(TEST3\u1) gid=100(users) groups=100(users),3000027(TEST3\g1)
but <getent group> does not

Kernel panic with 2.6.32-30 under network activity
Hello,
I''ve got several kernel panic on a domU under network activity (multiple
rsync using rsh). I didn''t manage to reproduce it manually, but it happened
5times during the last month.
Each time, it is the same kernel trace.
I am using Debian 5.0.8 with kernel/hypervisor :

PV-GRUB chainloading Grub2
Hey guys,
what I am trying to do is a chainload into grub2 installation in a DomU. So far I determined, PV-GRUB does not understand grub2''s grub.cfg notation. So I created a dummy menu.lst which has the needed root kernel and initrd rows and then referenced this to the DomUs config. The main intention to do this, is to be able to use kernel upgrades without touching the menu.lst for

E100P setup in Switzerland
Hi all,
I am trying to setup an E100P for use on Swisscom E1-PRI here in
Switzerland.
Swisscom seems to use Siemens hardware.
Here are my configs (cvs from a few hours ago) :
zaptel.conf
loadzone=fr ; tried "de" but got warning at modprobe
defaultzone=fr
span=1,1,0,cas,hdb3,crc4,yellow ; Seems to be right, as the Siemens
SDSL-G703 modem switches its LEDs off ... not sure

sending an SMS via Asterisk?
I've been googling and reading a lot, but I'm not getting any closer to
getting an SMS sent via Asterisk.
Prior to switching to asterisk, I used sms_client on an ISDN line to
dial one of two Swisscom SMS centers: 0900900941 or 0794998990.
My dialplan looks like this:
exten => 0900900941,1,Goto(smsmotx,${CALLERIDNUM},1)
exten => 0794998990,1,Goto(smsmotx,${CALLERIDNUM},1)

Success story
Hi all,
Just a little note for the records and archives. We see many small
glitches / troubles in the mailing-list but rarely success stories ...
Here's one :
Asterisk is running perfectly fine in our setup :
Debian 3.0 stable / Athlon 1.8, 256 MB Ram / Digium E-100P / Swisscom
PRI isdn
We have 6 companies (more to come) sharing the system in the building
with a total of about 20

Xen 4.0.x 3,000 second time skew problem
Hi,
I have two installs of Xen 4.0.1 on Debian squeeze dom0s that
occasionally skew the time by 3000 seconds. It is always 3000
seconds and it always affects all guests.
Depending on the kernels in the guests they will say:
tp0 kernel: [9339489.266542] Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -2999660317697 ns)
or perhaps the kernel doesn''t notice but ntpd does:
ls0 ntpd[15009]:

[PATCH] x86/pvclock-xen: zero last_value on resume
If the guest domain has been suspend/resumed or migrated, then the
system clock backing the pvclock clocksource may revert to a smaller
value (ie, can be non-monotonic across the migration/save-restore).
Make sure we zero last_value in that case so that the domain
continues to see clock updates.
[ I don't know if kvm needs an analogous fix or not. ]

AVM C4, asterisk-1.0.8, /etc/asterisk/capi.conf
Has anyone a working /etc/asterisk/capi.conf example for Germany or
Switzerland using the AVM C4 - ISDN Card.
I try to connect asterisk to 3 wires BRI-ISDN (Swisscom).
I appreciate your help and it would save me a lot of time, figuring
it out by myself.

Q: how to collect user/group-names
Hi
Sorry if it's not 100% appropriate for this list, cannot think of better
place to find people with lots of know-how from Unix and Windows.
I'm currently working on replacing EMC's Celerra file servers by Linux/Samba.
The SID to UID/GID mapping table on Celerra is very large, ~50'000 entries
and I don't want to pollute my LDAP server with all this (using winbind with

Samba4 Domain Account Lockout
First off, I apologize if this is a duplicate - I had some issues with the first email I tried to join this list with!
I'm currently using samba4 as an AD DC (domain and forest are both configured with the samba-tool command to be at the 2008_R2 functional level) for both Windows and Linux systems. I've got the default password settings set using the "samba-tool domain
