the future of CentOS
Hello, I've been reading the CentOS's FAQs, and saw this: How long will CentOS-4 updates be supported? We intend to support CentOS-4 updates until Feb 29, 2012. Would someone tell me what will happen after that?

Anaconda allows x86_64 CD/DVD to be used to install i386 system
As subject says. I just noticed that Anaconda allows x86_64 CD/DVD to be used to install i386 system (using network installation, of course). This is basically broken. For example, yum will believe that it is installed on x86_64, not on i386. So when you do for example yum update, it will try to install x86_64 packages on i386 system. Which isn't going to fly, since installed

XEN 4.0.1 + pv_ops Kernel + CentOS 5.5 x86_64, is there an easier way.
Hi As you may''ve seen from my last posts I''m struggling to get the setup on my subject line to work without flaws. I''ve tried compiling the Kernel from Source, I''ve also tried Fedora 14, which has a flaky pv_ops Dom0 kernel which DOESN''T work at all, but none of these seem to work. I''m a mid-time XEN user, I just love it and want to stay

Sending traffic through Secondary IP Address
I have set up a secondary IP address in the same network as my primary. So eth0: 192.168.100.29 netmask 255.255.255.0 eth0:0 192.168.100.45 netmask 255.255.255.0 And indeed when I invoke an apache instance that listens on the secondary IP address/interface it works, and it also makes it outside the LAN since the default gateway is defined in the routing tables for 192.168.100.0/24. But

RE: [Asterisk-Dev] Open source time card application for Asterisk
A little bird whispers to me: Don't expect this particular trick to be un-addressed by various legislatures forever. That window is closing, and the bottom of the window looks very much like a guillotine blade - don't have your head in the wrong place. In any case, as has been discussed on -users before (which is where this thread should go, and thus where I'm relegating it)

I need to be able to have both 32 and 64 bit versions of these libraries avilable on the system, in more or less the same path (/toolchain/lib, /toolchain/lib64).? Rterm.exe stops responding to keyboard input
I've been trying to use Rterm.exe, mainly because of Rgui.exe's lack of support for incremental history searching. But on my system (Win XP, SP3), it (rterm from R-2.8.1) frequently just stops responding to keyboard input. This happens often (enough to make it unusable), and generally after a switch to another window. It doesn't seem to hang exactly, as if I leave it a while (minutes)
