How to manipulate attachments with LDA?
Hi All,
I want to plug in a tool that will convert attachments somewhere into a
mail delivery process (postfix->dovecot). I think deliver would be a
good place to do it. Does it make sense? Could you direct me where I
could read about how to do it please?

iterate_query does not use userdb - mail_location not found
Hi dovecot-comminity,
can't get iterate_query working. doveadm cannot find mail_location
which comes from userdb query. dovecot itself works fine with sql.
Whats wrong? please help:
[root at glen exim]# /opt/dovecot/bin/doveadm search -A mailbox Trash savedbefore 90d

SQL iterate_query
I've been hunting some ghost mailboxes - and I *think* I found the source.
I use the complete email address as the username, and store such in a
database. The storage structure is location=/var/mail/%d/%n. Not unusual
I think.
So all I *should* see from "ls /var/mail" would be a list of domains.
But I keep seeing empty mailboxes being created at this level. Having

What does `iterate_query` for SQL want as output?
Hi all,
In an earlier thread, https://dovecot.org/pipermail/dovecot/2019-August/116694.html I got a lot of useful help about migration. On my older host, everything was static; on the newer host, I?m storing user information in Postgres. usernames are of the form <login at REALM>, say ?hile at coyhile.com? as basically a Kerberos principal, and authentication and individual lookups work.

iterate_query with static userdb ?
Hi,
Going by the "static userdb" example? on this page (https://wiki.dovecot.org/VirtualUsers#homedirs), tried to achieve a similar setup in conjunction with pgsql for passdb.
However I get an error "auth: Warning: sql: Ignoring changed iterate_query in /etc/dovecot/local_sql_users.conf, because userdb sql not used. (If this is intentional, set userdb_warning_disable=yes)"

Hi
I'm doing: doveadm force-resync -S director1:1234 -A "*"
The director gives this error:

where are stored attachments
Based on this you are not using SIS, so I wonder if those are some old
emails when you were using SIS?
Can you provide an example corpus of such mail? You can use e.g.
https://www.dovecot.org/tools/dbox-anonymize.pl
https://www.dovecot.org/tools/maildir-obfuscate.pl
https://www.dovecot.org/tools/mbox-anonymize.pl
https://www.dovecot.org/tools/mdbox-obfuscate.pl
to obfuscate the mail.

where are stored attachments
Sorry, I have checked before I wrote first post. Based on docs - the path
should be in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf or /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf
(I have Ubuntu 16.04 LTS). I have some familiar lines in 10-mail.conf:
#mail_attachment_dir =
#mail_attachment_min_size = 128k
#mail_attachment_fs = sis posix
#mail_attachment_hash = %{sha1}
but all these lines are commented out. So - in theory -

confused with ssl settings and some error - need help
Cipher list which You post provide better compatibility or security than
those which I currently have?
On older software version these cipher list works well and not generate any
errors when I run Internal PCI scan test from https://cloud.tenable.com for
another server. But for new server with newer software during test I got
errors in mail.err.

dovecot-uidlist crashing and re retriving messages by pop3 clients
Hello,
I have issue with dovecot (v. 2.1.13)configuration after implementation
dovecot-lda (I used maildrop earlier). Now i have 9 servers with storage
by NFS v3. My problem is frequently dovecot-uidlist crashing.

confused with ssl settings and some error - need help
Thank You for answers. But:
1. How should be properly configured ssl_cipher_list?
2. Ok, removed !TLSv1 !TLSv1.1.
3. Strange thing with ssl_protocols and ssl_cipher_list, because on older
server on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, dovecot 2.2.9 and postfix 2.11.0 these two
lines looks exactly this same and no errors in mail.err file and mailes
works without any problem.
4. No, currently I don't use LMTP.
