logistric regression: model revision
Hello, I am working on fitting a logistic regression model to my dataset. I removed the squared term in the second version of the model, but my model output is exactly the same. Model version 1: GRP_GLM<-glm(HB_NHB~elev+costdis1^2,data=glm_1,family=binomial(link=logit)) summary(GRP_GLM) Model version 2: QM_1<-glm(HB_NHB~elev+costdis1,data=glm_2,family=binomial(link=logit))

Combining the components of a character vector
Dear Help, Suppose I have a character vector. x <- c("Bob", "loves", "Sally") I want to combine it into a single string: "Bob loves Sally" . paste(x) yields: paste(x) [1] "Bob" "loves" "Sally" The following function combines the character vector into a string in the way that I want, but it seems somewhat inelegant.

Data reshaping with conditions
Dear All, I am trying to reshape the data with some conditions. A small part of the data looks like below. Like this there will be more data with repeating ID. Count id name type 117 335 sally A 19 335 sally A 167 335 sally B 18 340 susan A 56 340 susan A 22 340 susan B 53 340 susan B 135 351 lee A 114 351 lee A 84 351 lee A 80 351 lee A 19 351 lee A 8 351 lee A 21 351 lee A 88 351 lee B 111 351

Data reshaping with conditions
Hi sri, As your problem involves a few logical steps, I found it easier to approach it in a stepwise way. Perhaps there are more elegant ways to accomplish this. svdat<-read.table(text="Count id name type 117 335 sally A 19 335 sally A 167 335 sally B 18 340 susan A 56 340 susan A 22 340 susan B 53 340 susan B 135 351 lee A 114 351 lee A 84 351 lee A 80 351 lee A 19 351 lee A 8 351 lee A

Data reshaping with conditions
Hi Jim, Thanks for your time. But somehow this code did not help me to achieve my expected output. Problems: 1) x, y are coming as logical rather than values as I mentioned in my post 2) The values that I get for Max A and Max B not correct 3) It looks like a pretty big data, but I just need to concatenate the values with a comma, the final output will be a character

Getting unknown error trying to plot spatial data
Hi there! I'm following an awesome guide to working with spatial data (http://www.frankdavenport.com/blog/2012/6/19/notes-from-a-recent-spatial-r-class-i-gave.html) and am running into an error that I can't figure out how to fix. Disclaimer: I am very much an R n00b Here is the r script I am running: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/28231177/This%20Should%20Work.R data:

[PATCH 1/2] Btrfs: fix wrong handle at error path of create_snapshot() when the commit fails
There are several bugs at error path of create_snapshot() when the transaction commitment failed. - access the freed transaction handler. At the end of the transaction commitment, the transaction handler was freed, so we should not access it after the transaction commitment. - we were not aware of the error which happened during the snapshot creation if we submitted a async transaction

[PATCH 2/4] Btrfs: clean up find_free_extent
The whole loop=0,1,2 thing was kind of odd and not very self explanatory. I''ve replaced it with a list_for_each_entry on space_info->block_groups. If we have a hint we just jump into the loop with the block group and start looking for space. If we don''t find anything we start at the beginning and start looking. We never come out of the loop with a ref on the block_group

request to install app
Hi, I would like to generate a facebook call on behalf of a user to create a request to another user to install the app. Is there a way to do this without being in a fb_request_form? the use case is: Fred is creating a task, he assign it to a friend Sally , if Sally has already installed & setup my app, no problem, if she hasnt, I want to send an add request from Fred along with

[PATCH] fix enospc when there is plenty of space
Hello, So there is an odd case where we can possibly return -ENOSPC when there is in fact space to be had. I think I finally have a hold on what the problem is, it only happens with Metadata writes, and happens _very_ infrequently. What has to happen is we have to allocate have allocated out of the first logical byte on the disk, which would set last_alloc to first_logical_byte(root, 0), so

[BUG?] There is a possibility that 'i_ino' overflows
Hi, In btrfs, inode number is increased each time a new file or directory is made. Therefore, if the making deletion of the file is repeated, value of ''i_ino'' increases rapidly. For example, inode number changes as follows. $ touch foo $ ls -i foo 266 foo $ rm foo $ touch bar $ ls -i bar 267 bar $ And then, length of ''i_ino'' and

[PATCH] NFS support for btrfs - v2
Hi, Here''s an implementation of NFS support for btrfs. It does not work in one particular case as described in http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-btrfs@vger.kernel.org/msg00298.html. This uses the btrfs_iget helper introduced previously. Comments ? --- Signed-off-by: Balaji Rao <balajirrao@gmail.com> diff -r 3f0eee804974 Makefile --- a/Makefile Thu Jun 26 10:34:20 2008 -0400

Probit regression with limited parameter space
Dear R helpers, I need to estimate a probit model with box constraints placed on several of the model parameters. I have the following two questions: 1) How are the standard errors calclulated in glm (family=binomial(link="probit")? I ran a typical probit model using the glm probit link and the nlminb function with my own coding of the loglikehood, separately. As nlminb does not

[PATCH v0 00/18] btfs: Subvolume Quota Groups
This is a first draft of a subvolume quota implementation. It is possible to limit subvolumes and any group of subvolumes and also to track the amount of space that will get freed when deleting snapshots. The current version is functionally incomplete, with the main missing feature being the initial scan and rescan of an existing filesystem. I put some effort into writing an introduction into
