Im assuming, that because I never filled out a support ticket with these
people that someone else has done so using my email address. Anyone else
experiencing anything like this? Or is this normal from the CentOS mailing
list?
The topic in the email is a topic ive responded to on the list, but have not

Samba and Scalix
I'm hoping to integrate a shared folder(s) so that we may be able to
drag and drop files from various OSs into a shared folder on a
CentOS server which can be accessed via Scalix SWA or some other email
client.
Maybe I'm totally off base with how Scalix stores files in public
folders... maybe everything has to be in mbox format for all folders and
this could never work.....
Anyway, I

Zimbra, Scalix or something else..
Hello all,
I've played with both Zimbra and Scalix and they seem quite nice and do
pretty much what I want. I'm now at the point where I am considering
retiring my trusty old courier-imap service in favour of one of these
two, unless of course anyone has any other recommendations or
suggestions. I'd probably be doing this inside a centos 4.4 Xen VMs
running on centos 5 when it comes

Zimbra vs. Scalix vs. et. al.
Well, I stumbled onto zimbra....
I have a Scallix system built, but still have some rough edges to try to
smooth. Like the way it works with sendmail, no dnsbl's will work as
sendmail sees all mail as coming from locohost (scalix). Still battling
that one which is when I ran across Zimbra.
So, this made me start wondering.
Are there other exchange server-like products out there?

Replacing my Scalix mail server
I really need to either upgrade my Scalix server or replace it.
It has to be:
Free
Integrated with anti-spam
IPv6 support
optional anti-virus (processing concerns)
I don't have to be able to port mail from the Scalix to the new server.
Everyone can just POP their mail.
I have read a bit about Zimbra, it comes as a tar for rhel 5. No rpm
that I can find.
I also found SME, I have a LOT

Scalix on CentOS
www.scalix.com
the community edition.
I have not gone too far in, the system I would run it on won't be
built for a week,
but it lists Fedora Core 4 as one of the OS options.
Also RH Enterprise 3 or 4.
What do I select to install it on CentOS 4.2?

restarting on scalix - thankyou
thank you all for your help.
Recently, ver 10 came out for scalix and it includes all the 'third
party' pieces like JDK and Tomcat.
So now I am reading up on kickstart to rebuild this system and start clean.
I have copied all of my changed files (I hope!!) onto my notebook,
and am doing the one mod i need for kickstart (original was a CD
install, this time FTP). So I will know very

Installing Java 1.4.2
For scalix on Centos the Scalix forum provides instructions for
convincing Scalix that Centos is Redhat:
http://www.scalix.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=516&highlight=centos
I am up to the point of getting Java JDK1.4.2 installed.
I did a: yum list|grep "java" and got:
gcc-java.i386 3.4.4-2
installed

Mail Server Install
Hi Friends,
I am planning to upgrade my mail server from CentOS4.5 to CentOS5. By this, I also planned to replace my postfix mail server with Scalix although the community edition limit me to just 25 premium user, I think it is suffice for us with the remaining user as standard user (with approx. <> 100 users total). Is there a catch on using Scalix based on your experience. I see that

[LLVMdev] Support for "foreign" Visual Studio 64 bits C++ exceptions?
Hi,
We are currently porting our application to Windows 64 bits (amd64), and we are getting regressions from 32 bits relatively to LLVM 3.0's ability to get traversed by "foreign" Visual Studio C++ exceptions. That is, there is a crash when C++ exceptions which are thrown from Visual Studio code, are unwinding through LLVM code before being eventually catch by other Visual Studio

web based mail packages for CentOS
Hello Everyone,
I was using OpenGroupware but just hosed my system. Since I'm starting
from scratch I would like to know what everyone's using for web based
mail. I currently implemented cyrus-imapd and postfix which I used
before. I was going to give dovecot a try but it wouldn't start even
though it was supposed to be easier.
I would like to move my postfix to a chroot but have

[MacOSX] Firefox Not Diplaying Images
Forgive the random question, but for those of you Mac OS X users...
Does anyone else have a problem with Firefox 1.5 not displaying
pictures/graphics embedded on web pages. Safari doesn''t seem to have a
problem with them.
For example, my blog appears correctly in Safari, however Firefox
drops background images.
Clues? Thanks.

NT network can't browse Samba
Hi,
I'm trying to setup a Linux box with Samba (1.9.18p10) and it isn't
having any luck making a home for itself on the network.
If I go to a Windows95 machine, I see all (well most) machines on the
net there, but not the Linux box. I can also not see any other machines
from the Linux box.
Here is log.nmbd output that repeats every 5 seconds or so:

Centos 5.2 Install - lvcreate failed for ...
!st install of 5.2; system requires custom partitioning (Scalix mail
server).
Boot and Swap are hard partitions, rest of drive is LVM.
In LVM, three ext3 partitions: /, /home, /var/opt/scalix
lvcreate failed for the last (named Scalix_02). It was the last of the
three partitions and used up the remainder of the LVM space.
Now 'The Installer will now exit..." And all there is is a

Using Asterisk as an Fax-Gateway for analog Fax devices
Hi,
this problem could be a bit tricky. We?ve got some good old Fax-Machines
here and need to create an fax-report of all faxes which goes out through
this devices including an copy oft he fax. The fax-machines are not able to
store this fax-report on an storage-place ore send it to an email-account.
My idea is now, connecting the fax-machine though an analoge-VOIp Adapter to

First time Dovecot user, really impressed so far. What is best IMAP enabled webmail package to go with Dovecot?
Greetings everyone,
I'm new to the list as of today. I just installed Dovecot a couple of days ago
for the first time, Debian Lenny Dovecot v1.0.15-2.3. So far I'm pretty
impressed. I'm using mbox format with Dovecot auto-deciding to place mail in
user home directories, which is great. It works very well with the Win32
Thunderbird 3 client over a small basic 100FDX switched net.
