GNBD and DRBD kernel mods
Hi all, I am using heartbeat and drbd on CentOS 5 (see http://www.centos.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=7816&forum=41 for details).. DRBD and heartbeat are working, and now I want to put GNBD on top on this. However, I installed the latest CentOS-plus kernel (2.6.18-8.1.8.el5.centos.plus) but there doesn't appear to be a kmod-gndb for this kernel. Looks like the latest

Open Source NAS/NFS solution
Hi Has anyone got any ideas on a nfs/nas appliance that i can install on x86 hardware with a few JBOD shelves attached to it. I would like an appliance like install and based on CentOS would be great. I really like the look of www.openfiler.com but it seems to be only in RC release stage so i don't think the 'boss' would like that idea. thanks

OOT: Advice on failover rsync setup
Hi all, I have a task on setting up a cluster of 2 servers for providing ftp service. We use RH's Cluster suite. However the cluster setup is lack of shared network storage, so the /var/ftp/pub is mounted on each server. The cluster is set with Master and Slave configuration (when the master is down, slave serves. and when master is up again, slaves gives up the service back to master). We

How to Contact Package Maintainer
Hi, I'm wondering what the correct channel is for communicating with the maintainer of a particular package in the Extras repo. Specifically, I would like to find out who maintains the DRBD 8.0.x package, as there is a newer version (8.0.12) that I would like to see added. Or, alternatively, what is the process for suggesting that an out-of-date package be updated in the repo? Thanks! P.S.

Hi, I wanted to try yum-changelog, so I yum installed it. It installed without complaining. But, when I try to use it, it complains about a missing module: "Dateutil module not available, so can't parse dates" Missing dependency? Only package I found is python-dateutil.noarch from rpmforge. Is it the one? Thx, JD

Package lists for Cloud images
hi Guys, As we get ready to start publishing Cloud Images ( or rather images consumable in various virt platforms, including public and private clouds ) - it would be great to have a baseline package manifest worked out. What / how many images should we build. At this time we were thinking of doing : - CentOS-5 32bit minimal - CentOS-6 32bit minimal - CentOS-5 64bit minimal - CentOS-6 64bit

Gnumeric
Hi, I am trying to install Gnumeric in CentOS 4 and I can't. It complains about quite a few dependencies failing. It suggested installing some postgresql librairies, openldap librairies... I did that, now I still get: dependencies failed: libmdb/libmdbsq/libsqlite/libxbase/libtds. Is there a yum repository that has them or a yum repository for gnumeric? I have tried Dag, he does not, he

Installing over network
Hi All, I see that sparc.centos.org does not contain any ISO's so that I can install from CD. How does one install over the internet? I have never done it before. I assume use the boot.iso and make sure that I have DHCP turned on so that I get an IP automatically from my router? Any advice? -Jason
