subnet browsing
we have samba [mostly] working in a VPN application connecting two Mandrake
subnets using SSH.
if all machines define the same workgroup name, and we define a single
domain master browser, (with the other subnet defined as a preferred,
local, master browser,) and a single WINS server, after a little while, all
shares are visible to all WIN9x machines. this samba stuff is fantastic!

(nlme) Repeated measures with continuous covariate in lme
Dear readers,
I have a basic question about how to use lme for my design. I haven't been able to find an example in r-help that made it clear to me how to tackle this problem and unfortunately I also cannot get hold of Pinheiro & Bates 2000. I hope someone can help.
Data for the response variable "foan" were collected in:

factorial experiments and repeated measures
Dear All,
I'm new to the list and relatively new to R (but not so to S-Plus) and I?ve
been asked to help study some experimental data.
In a factorial experiment (5 factors at 2 levels) the response-variable was
measured at various times (0, 2, 5, 7, ..., 30 days after start). There's just
one run for each factor combination! I intend to use the nlme library of
Pinheiro and Bates in a

A repeated measures, linear mixed model (lme) WITHOUT random effects...
Hello,
I am trying to fit a repeated measures linear mixed model (using lme)
but I don't want to include any random effects. I'm having trouble (even
after consulting Pinheiro & Bates 2000) figuring out how to specify the
repeated measure without including it in the specification of a random
effect.
My data consist of repeated "counts" in "plots" that I wish

[LLVMdev] bug? c backend produces code rejected by gcc4.0.1: array type has incomplete element type
It seems very similar to http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=737 .
You might want to check if it's the same problem. If not, then please
create a new bug report.

Repeated measures
Dear R-gurus,
I am pretty much new on R.
I am trying to to do a repeated analysis of a linear mixed model with
R, and I consistently fail...
The problem is: Cow is the random factor, treatment is the fixed
factor. The dependent variable is milk yield, which is measured several
times (repeatedly over time), thus there is another variable which is
time (i.e. week).
The model would be

repeated measures ANOVA

Comparing membership of clusters
Hello,
I'm taking several physiological measurements on participants (e.g.,
skin conductivity, heart rate, etc.). I know that those participants
belong to one of three groups (from another measurement), and I'm
looking to find the physiological measurement that best describes
group membership. The measurements are taken over several days and I
computed an lm() for each participant for

grouping for lme with nested repeated measurements
I am using lme to handle repeated measurements.
So far i can follow the examples from the book from pinheiro and bates.
Now i get the problem , that i have "nested" repeated measuremnts, and i cant find out how to do the grouping part of the lme formula.
1.The simple problem ist that i have different Samples , from which i make repeated measurements (each sample is measured 6 times) and

R code to reproduce (while studying) Bates & Watts 1988
Hi R users,
I'm here trying to understand correlated residuals in nonlinear estimation.
I'm reading/studying the book Bates, D. M. and D. G. Watts, (1988),
/Nonlinear regression analysis and its applications/, Wiley, NY. pages
92-94, trying to reproduce the figures and to find out the code in R to
perform the necessary calculations.
I also consulted Pinheiro and Bates, but without

"repeated"repeated measures in ANOVA or mixed model
dear List
I have a dataset with blood measurements at 5 points in TIME (0,30,60,90,120) taken on 3 VISITS (same subjects). the interest is to compare these measurements between Visits, overall and at the different time points.
I have problems setting up repeated measures ANOVA with 2 repeated measures (VISIT and TIME) (and then doing post hoc testing) or doing it with a linear mixed model ( both
