Problem in S4 object displaying from within a Java application using JRI
I am using JRI (Java R Interface) library in order to call R from within my
Java application. But since the "rmu1" and "rmu2" ,see the following code,
are objects of type S4 once i run the application the value of Null will be
returned for both of them. On this regard, i would appreciate it if anyone
can tell me how i am going to display and/ or convert these objects to Java

wireframe advice - with reproducible code
Dear List,
i am trying to produce a 3d plot using wireframe using the code:
wireframe(Residuals_FD ~ Elevation * Temperature, data = data2, scales = list(arrows = FALSE), drape = TRUE, colorkey = TRUE)
As you can see when the code (using the data below) is run the plot area is set-up correctly but the actual surface is missing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Running sweave automatically using cygwin
Hi all,
Hope someone could help me.
I am trying to run automatically the conversion of an Rwn file to a tex
file.
I am using windows 7, and cygwin.
I tried to run automatically the Sweave.sh script, in its the most
recent version available at R webpage:

Lattice: how to have multiple wireframe nice intersection?
Hello,
This code builds a simple example of 2 wireframes :
require(lattice)
x <- c(1:10)
y <- c(1:10)
g <- expand.grid(x = 1:10, y = 1:10, gr = 1:2)
g$z <- c(as.vector(outer(x,y,"*")), rep(50,100))
wireframe(z ~ x * y, data = g, groups = gr, scales = list(arrows =
FALSE))
However, the intersection between the wireframes is not properly
drawn. Is there a way to fix this

transparency of one layer in multiple wireframe plot
Sorry sending this again - is anyone familiar with multiple transparent wireframe plots?
I already checked the ?wireframe, but with no examples and as newcommer its hard to find out a correct code.
If we set drape=F in the example:
g <- expand.grid(x = 1:10, y = 5:15, gr = 1:2)
g$z <- log((g$x^g$g + g$y^2) * g$gr)
wireframe(z ~ x * y, data = g, groups = gr,
scales = list(arrows

Reducing space around lattice wireframe plots
Dear R-help.
When plotting 3D wireframe plots with the lattice package, there is often
a lot of space between the actual plot (i.e., cube) and panel borders. For
a single wireframe, this is not a problem, but when plotting multiple
wireframes, the wasted space decreases the size of the plots very much.
Is there a way to decrease this space/margin? I could not find any
information about it in

Trying to tile wireframe plots (using lattice package)
Hi all,
I'm trying to print a number of wireframe plots (generated using the
lattice package), and I want them to appear in a two-by two matrix along
with some other (standard) plots. In other words I am trying to create a
subplot or tiled plot that works for wireframes.
I've tried the methods discussed in:
http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e2/help/07/07/21238.html
but while they work

how to test the random factor effect in lme
Hi
I am working on a Nested one-way ANOVA. I don't know how to implement

My R code so far can only test the fixed factor :

(Intercept) 1 12 1841.7845 <.0001

crossprod is slower than t(AA)%*BB
Dear Rdevelopers
The background for this email is that I was helping a PhD student to
improve the speed of her R code. I suggested to replace calls like
t(AA)%*% BB by crossprod(AA,BB) since I expected this to be faster. The
surprising result to me was that this change actually made her code
slower.

>
> AA <- matrix(rnorm(3000*1000),3000,1000)

different colors for two wireframes in same plot
Hello R,
According to:
g <- expand.grid(x = 1:10, y = 5:15, gr = 1:2)
g$z <- log((g$x^g$g + g$y^2) * g$gr)
wireframe(z ~ x * y, data = g, groups = gr,
scales = list(arrows = FALSE),
drape = TRUE, colorkey = TRUE,
screen = list(z = 30, x = -60))
i have two wireframes in one plot.
How could i change the color of the top - one to transparent (or only the grid).

lattice.wireframe missing wireframe
Hello Everyone,
I am using R ver. 2.10.1 (2009-12-14). I installed lattice today via install.packages.
I am doing this minimal example:
M = read.csv("/path/to/csv")
cloud(x ~ y * z, data = M)
this correctly gives me a scatterplot of the csv data which has 3 columns. Every column contains 1800 numeric 0 < values < 1300
when I want to plot the corresponding wireframe via

Limitations of R
Dear all,
I have a few binary files like 9Gb or even of 50Gb.
I would like to ask you what are the known limits of the R for the data processing part, I have a system with a lot of RAM (500Gb) but I am not sure about the "internal" limitations of the R. How long for example a vector can be?
Could you please inform me for these internal R limitations?
I would like to thank you in

lattice: wireframe "eats up" points; how to make points on wireframe visible?
Dear expeRts,
I would like to add two points to a wireframe plot. The points have (x,y,z) coordinates
where z is determined to be on the wireframe [same z-value]. Now something strange
happens. One point is perfectly plotted, the other isn't shown at all. It only
appears if I move it upwards in z-direction by adding a positive number. So somehow
it disappears in the wireframe-surface

puppetd daemon vs. cron
Hi,
I''m running multiple vservers and have some aspects managed via puppet. I
noticed that puppetd consumes from 20 to 60 mb RAM and the longer the process
runs, the more RAM it takes. It looks like 60MB is the top what I measured.
Having a couple of vservers (11 in my case) this can already take up to 500MB
just for puppet! I''m wondering if there''s any downside in

Error in combined for() and if() code
Hello,
I am trying to filter a data set like below so that the peaks in the Phase
value are more obvious and can be identified by a peak finding function
following the useful advise of Carl Witthoft. I have written the following
for(i in length(data$Phase)){
newphase=if(abs(data$Phase[i+1]-data$Phase[i])>6){
data$Phase[i+1]
}else{data$Phase[i]
}
}
I get the following error which I have not
