tableGrob and properties of a cell
Hello there,
could you please help to modify gpar() properties of a cell inside
tableGrob() output.
In the following example I want to have different color for one out of 4 cells
require(gridExtra)
z<-matrix(1:4,2,2)
grid.draw(tableGrob(z))
The only way I found for now how to do it is to do something like this
downViewport(current.vpTree()$children[[1]]$children[[6]]$name)

gplots y alternativas
Hola, queremos consultaros sobre alternativas a esta librería.
http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/gplots/index.html

Fancy Page layout
Hi,
Working on a report that is going to have a large number of graphs and
summaries. We have 80 "groups" with 20 variables each.
Ideally, I'd like to produce ONE page for each group. It would have two
columns of 10 graphs and then the 5 number summary of the variables at
the bottom.
So, perhaps the top 2/3 of the page has the graphs and the bottom third
has 20 rows of data

Creating pdf report
I'm looking for a way to create a pdf report that contains multiple graphs on one page as well as tables (ideally with some lines below categories etc.) . I have used the pdf(filename) followed by dev.off() to date but this prints one graph per page and does not seem to have functionality for tables.
Thanks

Coefficient of association for 2x2 contingency tables
Hi,
Found no measure of association or correlation for 2x2 contingency tables in
fullrefman.pdf or google. Can someone point to a package that implements such
calculations?
Thanx.

print table on plot
Hello,
I would like to be able to plot an array on a plot, something like:
|arg1 | arg2 | arg3
val1| 0.9 | 1.1 | 2.4
val2| 0.33 | 0.23 | -1.4
val3| hello| stop | test
I know Rwave is good to report but don't want to use it.
? Is there a package that allow quick and dirty plot of dataframes like this
?
Thanks a lot

reshaping list into a contingency table
Hi all,
I have been struggling with this problem for a few days.
I have a data table like this:
gene rpkm1 diff1 rpkm2 diff2
gene1 23 50 13 120
gene2 111 220 827 1200
gene3 75 998 71 910
And I want to re-format it so that, for each gene, I have a 2x2 contingency
table, such as:
gene rpkm diff
gene1 23 50
gene1 13 120
gene2 111 220
gene2 827

latex code in R -> convert to pdf
hi,
is it possible to convert latex code to pdf in R (like a latex-program
would do it)?
Is there a package that comes with this capabilities?
My problem is that I want to generate tables automatically -
and I can't use a latex editor at that computer ...
Besides latex ... are there good ways to generate tables in R?
thanks for any suggestions!

sweave tables as images?
Hello folks,
I've been on a journey trying to figure out how to manage documents that
are amenable to sharing and editing, but that contain dynamic content
generated by R. I've come to the following solution: I use Sweave to
generate labeled png & pdf figures, and I "Insert & Link" those figures
as "Pictures" in a Word 2010 doc. Thus, when data or code

Exact test in nxm contingency table
Hello,
I am trying to find a permutation test that works on a general nxm table. The data set is small enough to have cells with too small counts to make chi2-approximation invalid. If the table was a 2x2 contingency table I would like to use a Fsher exact test (fisher.test) but that wont work in this general table.
Does there exist a general function for this test.
Best regards,
Magnus

Generating 2x2 contingency tables
Hello R-users,
I would like to generate two-way contingency tables with zero in one cell. I tried to use the function r2dtable but I could not force one cell to have zero value.
Any Idea?
Best regards..

Writing non-graphic (text) output to PDF
Hi, friends.
I keep coming to you because I'm so new to R and can't seem to figure out
some simple things. Sorry.
Consider the following code. I want to load a table and write out the
structure to a PDF document. I just can't seem to manage writing
non-graphic output to PDF. Any help? I've tried several functions, but
nothing worked. All I get is the title.

Plotting Data Table
Hi all,
So my question is pretty simple, but unfortunately I have not been able to
find a good answer after extensive google searches.
I am trying to plot an "attractive" data table in R, such as:
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRjfTbTEUWlnb73wtUkY1mbQblWA-2EKEgvTLXGzkqUSpH4mWrk
Such data tables are easily done in Excel, but I am trying to automate the
entire process in R.

Figures within tables [slightly off-topic]
Dear R-listers
I am writing a manuscript for a scientific journal in clinical medicine.
I have three groups of patients, and I present a 10*3 table of their
characteristics in Table 1. Some of their characteristics, e.g. their
age, are on a continuous scale, others are dichotomous. I am thinking of
presenting the age distribution in each group as miniature graphs, each
of which must fit in one

Contingency table: logistic regression
Hi,
I am analyzing a data set with greater than 1000 independent cases
(collected in an unrestricted manner), where each case has 3 variables
associated with it: one, a factor variable with 0/1 levels (called XX),
another factor variable with 8 levels (X) and a third response variable
with two levels (Y: 0/1). I am trying to see if X1 has an effect on the
relationship between X2 and the

grid.table with head of two rows
Hi all,
I try to print a table with the grid.draw(tableGrob(...)) function applied
to an ftable object. The output only give me a table without
colnames either rownames, but with edit.grid() I can add only one of them.
And this is the problem, I have a table with a two rows head, like this:

mx2 contingency tables or (2^(m-1)-1)'s 2x2 contingency tables in the context of feature selection for random forest
Dear Listers:
I have a categorical feature selection problem for random forest.
Suppose I have a multiple-leveled category variable A, which has m=3
levels: red, green, and blue and the final target is binary
classification.
I want to evaluate its power in discrimination between 2 classes. We
know rf splits multiple-leveled category variable by considering all
combinations of its levels. So
