Several files's checksum change without reason
Hi list, I'm a bit worried here. On a server, Centos 4.3 fully-patched SELinux activated, Osiris (a decentralized scanner for files changes on distant servers) signaled me several changes on files who were not (at first sight) affected by a recent update (the list is below). Is there a logic explanation for those changes to happen ? The "rpm -Va" command does not output md5sum

Cron sending to root after changing MAILTO
It?s being rejected before it even reaches the mailbox, so forwarding won?t work.? Crond should really be using the MAILTO variable and it?s not. --- Chad Cordero Information Technology Consultant Enterprise & Cloud Services Information Technology Services California State University, San Bernardino 5500 University Pkwy San Bernardino, CA 92407-2393 Main Line: 909/537-7677 Direct

deliver mail with postfix to dovecot for mailinglists
This is a bit off topic on that list. But the question is required because of a limitation of dovecot. It cannot have shared mailboxes into which one would collect mailing list mails. I assume one has already solved that problem and therefore ask this question on that list. I try to do the following: I would like to setup an alias dovecot at kzone.ch and subscribe this alias to the dovecot

build postfix rpm with mysql
hello list, I'm trying to build a postfix rpm that has mysql support included. I've found the line where I need to define mysql support but it seems that I am being tripped up by some build dependencies: [root at beta SPECS]# rpmbuild -ba postfix.spec error: Failed build dependencies: MySQL-shared is needed by postfix-2.9.1-1.rhel5.x86_64 MySQL-devel is needed by

Still muddling through with broken auth...
Hey Everyone, I?m still muddling through my first install? Followed the tutorials on workaround.org <http://workaround.org/> which were very helpful! but don?t include much info if things don?t work 100%? and so far I haven?t been able to pin down where the error is. When I try: telnet localhost 143 this is what shows up in the maillot: Apr 2 21:06:57 ip-172-31-24-2 dovecot: auth: Fatal:

dovecot howto?
Hi, is there a *simple* HOWTO that explains a simple postfix+dovecot setup? Up to now, I used postfix+cyrus, worked fine. But I do not get postfix+dovecot to work. Currently, all emails go to /dev/null. What really would help me is a dovecot lmtp server. Is there any? Cron sending to root after changing MAILTO
Well, I feel silly.? There are three places MAILTO can affect crond: /etc/crontab, /etc/crond.d/0hourly, and /etc/anacrontab.? Once I set this in these 3 files, I started getting mail from crond.? Thank you all for your help. --- Chad Cordero Information Technology Consultant Enterprise & Cloud Services Information Technology Services California State University, San Bernardino 5500

Postfix with Deliver (LDA) - user unknown
Good Day All! I am attempting to configure deliver as our LDA. I am also configuring the server to use Postfix instead of Sendmail. I have followed the all the documentation and examples I could find. Below are my Dovecot and Postfix configs. Can someone please smack me upside the head and tell me why I am getting "user unknown" errors? If i don't use deliver as the LDA, all

Use postfix and spamd on CentOS 6 - looking for a shortest guide
Hello fellow CentOS-users, on the net there are lots of Spamassassin related HOWTOs - describing how to create a shell script for Postfix and how to install Spamassassin and start its spamd daemon - step by step. Additionally antivirus setups are described... But I have a strong feeling, that this is unneeded on CentOS 6 - because there are already preconfigured stock packages for postfix and

setgid error
Hi all Trying to setup dovecot with mysql and postfix, I have configured it as given below. thecot user has the dovecot group as primary, and is also a member of mail and dovecot-users. Still, it can't setgid to dovecot-users. I tried changing the shell for the dovecot user to something useful and chmod'ing a file to dovecot-users, and it work well. Still, no mail comes through
