doveadm import assertion failed
Restoring a user's mailbox yesterday resulted in 'doveadm import'
panic'ing with an assertion failure and giving a backtrace:

Sub-Sub-Subfolders not shown after converting from maildir to mdbox
Hi again,
I just recognized a problem concerning subfolders after converting from
maildir to mdbox. Thunderbird and SeaMonkey don?t show folders that are
subfolders of subfolders.
Have a look at the filesystem:
discovery:/var/mail/domain.tld/patrick/mdbox/mailboxes/Folder1/Folder2#
ls -l

LDA-based vacation responses bouncing
I've got dovecot vacataion auto-responses working via sieve, but when
the responses are sent, they are sent as if they are to be locally
delivered, which causes them to bounce for domains that I am not local
for. How can I get dovecot's sieve vacation response to check the domain
is local or not?
Here is an example of what happens:
The LDA notices it needs to send a vacation response:

mailboxes missing after upgrade from 2.1.4 to 2.1.7
Hi all,
I mentioned this on the #dovecot irc channel, but I thought I would post
here so I can provide more details.
The basic problem is that when I upgraded from 2.1.4 to 2.1.7, some
users no longer are able to see their folders in pine/alpine. The
folders are actually there, and are subscribed (according to doveadm)
and its possible to do operations on those folders, if you know the
name (for

Deleted mails in dsync backups
Hello
we are doing regular backups of the mdbox mail folders using
dsync -u username backup mdbox:/somedir/BACKUPS/username
(still with version 2.1.10, but 2.2.5 is in testing phase)
We do observe that the directory size in the BACKUPS directory is
growing with respect to the original mail folders. I believe this is due
to deleted mails not being purged in the backup. We are doing regular

constant Log synchronization error's
Hi,
I am seeing constant "Log synchronization error"s in my logs. See later
for an example.
This is dovecot 2.2.4, pigeonhole 0.4.1, and postfix 2.10.1 (with
mailbox_command = /usr/libexec/dovecot/deliver) on a Fedora 19 system.
I am using packages from Atrpms so there are some patches applied - ask
for details. The mailboxes have resently been moved from a i386 system.
I have

please help me using rsync efficiently
Hi,
I need a small information on the way rsync copies the files .
I am writing the files , links to a list file and I am passing the list
file to rsync for copying to remote machine.
The contents of the list file (passed to rsync for synchronisation) are
/folder1/folder2/rep/01234018329/FSG2_PULL.txt#79GA91205KAE --- actual file
/folder1/folder2/users/01234002360/my/FSG2_PULL#79GA91205KAE ----

Mdbox corruption
Hi,
I have a "ubuntu10.04 + ext4-filesystem + dovecot-2.0.13 +mdbox"
configuration in my server. It works fine with ~50k accounts.
Recently happened a filesystem corruption in a device of StMailLocation
and I fix with fsck.ext4.
After this crash, one account began to show access timeout and errors
like this on force-resync:
# doveadm force-resync -u account INBOX
doveadm(account):

With this setting, all folders are empty, I guess understandable,
because the mdbox has its own indexes stored locally with it. Does not
explain though why inbox is empty.

Hi Timo, hi all!
Today i noticed imap throws segmentation faults and dumps cores. I
looked into logs I can see:

doveadm import with subfolder oddity
This has got to be something weird in my config. And the standard
disclaimer of '"happy to post doveconf -n, but wanted to see if this is
normal first" :)
Background: Ubuntu Xenial, running 2.2.36. Mailbox type is mdbox and I've
got a period separator in my inbox namespace:
namespace {
hidden = no
inbox = yes
list = yes
location =
mailbox Spam {

doveadm can't import his own mdboxes
We're running Dovecot 2.1.17 on Debian:

# OS: Linux 2.6.32-042stab078.27.debug i686 Debian 7.1 simfs
and we're having this namespace configuration:

namespace inbox {
disabled = no
hidden = no
ignore_on_failure = no
inbox = yes
list = yes
