SELinux triggered during Libvirt snapshots
I recently began getting periodic emails from SEalert that SELinux is
preventing /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm "getattr" access from the directory I store
all my virtual machines for KVM.
All VMs are stored under /vmstore , which is it's own mount point, and
every file and folder under /vmstore currently has the correct context that
was set by doing the following:

QEMU 2.2.0 managedsave: Unknown savevm section type 5
Hello,
I am running into issues restoring VMs during reboot for some of my XP VMs
- the environment is QEMU 2.2.0, libvirt 1.2.12 on CentOS 6.5 with KVM and
libvirt-guests is set to suspend at shutdown. The weird part is Windows 7
is restored properly from the managedsave however XP does not, doing a
start from virsh shows this:
virsh # start xp-check
error: Failed to start domain xp-check

Submitting patches from upstream fixes/bugs
What is the preferred method for submitting patches from upstream projects ?
I have two patches for libvirt-0.8.1.el6_0.6. One adds ESX 4.1 support to
things like virt-v2v (
http://www.redhat.com/archives/libvir-list/2010-July/msg00480.html) and the
second fixes the broken "virsh snapshot-create" (
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=727709). All I did really was
get them to

Indeed. nesting is nice to enable as it works in 99% of all cases. It
just doesn't work when

virt-manager thru window's remote desktop
Hi,
I am trying to operate the remote KVM host's virt-manager thru Terminal Server Client.
This KVM hosts is CentOS6.0 and running KVM guest and xrdp is installed from "epel" repo.
And I'm using fedora 14's Terminal Server Client.
After I started Virtual Machine Manager and try to connect to the hypervisor,
following error happened. Is there any way to resolve this error?

converting save/dump output into physical memory image
A lot of people in the security community, myself included, are
interested in memory forensics these days. Virtualization is a natural
fit with memory forensics because it allows one to get access to a
guest's memory without having to introduce any extra software into the
guest or otherwise interfere with it. Incident responders are
particularly interested in getting memory dumps from

Libvirt daemon usage question
I could use some help with clarification on the use of the libvirtd daemon
with regards to managing remote KVM instances. Right now I have a CentOS 6
KVM server (libvirt-0.8.1), but would like to use some management
applications that require higher version (0.8.8). First, is it possible to
run the libvirtd daemon from within a VM, or does it require active kvm
kernel module? Secondly, could a

libvirt 1.2.4 and virt-manager 0.9.0 are not incompatible
Hello everyone
I encountered a problem when I completed the update of libvirt from 0.10 to 1.2.4 .
The problem was that virt-manager(version 0.9.0) could not start and reported error : "ImportError: /usr/lib64/libvirt.so.0: version 'LIBVIRT_PRIVIATE_0.10.2' not found (required by /usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/libvirtmod.so)".
I found the libvirt.so.0 link

Is virsh supposed to work on Windows?
Hi there,
Sorry for the cross-post, but I seeked help on this issue before on
those lists, but nobody answered. :-(
I'm trying to use virsh and virt-viewer on Windows. I'm running the
latest binaries from http://spice-space.org/download.html, that is,
virt-viewer-x64-0.5.7.msi on a Windows 7 64-bits computer.
So far I got remote-viewer.exe to work, after some pain. But have no
