perl bindings
Hi All, When are the XS-based Perl bindings going to be deprecated in favour of the SWIG bindings? Please remove the dead RHEL RPMs from: http://xapian.org/download I've built RPMs for RHEL5/CentOS5 (with a different signing key) here: http://rpm.eprints.org/xapian/5/ RHEL4 is eol and shouldn't be used. For my own convenience I have written an RPM for the repository: rpm -ivh

1.4 release series
The wiki roadmap page (http://trac.xapian.org/wiki/RoadMap) suggests we aim to start a new stable release series every one to two years. However, we're not doing a good job of implementing that - in fact we're just about to hit 5.5 years since 1.2.0 was released. And that's really much too long - we've built up a pile of nice new features which it's hard for most people to

redhat rpm install and quick start
I installed Xapian and Omega following the instructions for the RHEL 5 RPM package found at xapian.org. I was going to perform the quick start instructions, but there is not "omnidex" for the omindex --db DBPATH --url / WEBPATH command. The quick start also mentions running omega from usr/lib/omega/bin; however that was not created as well using the RHEL 5 RPM. Is there a walkthrough on

GSoC Reunion + Documentation Sprint
Gaurav, James and I are attending the GSoC reunion in San Jose, California, USA this weekend, so if anyone else is around, do come and say hello. We're also going to be holding a documentation sprint on Monday and Tuesday next week in San Francisco. If anyone else wants to take part (remotely would work) let me know. The only plan we have so far is to come up with a plan over the weekend.

OpenVPN/SNOM 820: a review.
Hey, all. Got an SNOM 820 in the other day to kick the tires. As with many phones, provisioning it was a bit of a PITA. The biggest problem, as far as I could tell, was that their firmware just doesn't seem that stable, and is sometimes hard to get to. - I managed to corrupt the firmware twice; fortunately, instead of bricking the phone, there's a fairly easy-to-use "rescue

(no subject)
hi,? I'm working on a research project where we're looking at the changing resonances in femur bones during hip replacement operations. basically, I've got a spreadsheet with one column listing frequencies in 5Hz bands and 3 columns showing the amplitude of that frequency when the bone is loose, medium to tight (referring to the tension of the reamer/chisel creating a cavity for the
