Broken Link
Hi, on http://xapian.org/docs/quickstart.html, the link that is supposed to point to quickstartindex.cc.html refers to quickstartsearch.cc.html ; maybe you could fix that. Thanks! Perl bindings and MatchAll / MatchNone
I've just had a quick look at the XS, but I can't see quite how to make these (or just MatchAll, really) available through the Perl binding ... where should I start please?

xapian 1.2.21 / MSYS-1.0.11.exe
Xapian Developers, [I initially thought to install xapian on SFU (Interix 3.5) on MS XP but could not compile libuuid] [getopt.h, inttypes.h, and stdint.h taken from SUA (for Vista) and installed in SFU (Interix 3.5)] If someone is inclined to write a modified libuuid and label it for use with Interix <version(s)> to satisfy the dependency for an xapian <version(s)> install on

Bug in TermIterator::skip_to() ?
Hi all, I've been toying with xapian (mostly using the Python bindings) and I think I've hit a bug in the TermIterator::skip_to() method (or maybe in QuartzAllTermsList::skip_to()). I've attached a c++ source file that demonstrates the issue. In short, if you have a WritableDatabase, ask for the all-terms TermIterator with db.allterms_begin(), and then skip_to() a word that is itself

Compact databases and removing stale records at the same time
I'm trying to compact (or at least merge) multiple databases, while stripping search records which are no longer required. Backstory: I've inherited the Cyrus IMAPd xapian-based search code from Greg Banks when he left Opera. One of the unfinished parts was removing expunged emails from the search database. We moved from having a single search database to supporting multiple

Question on "single writer, multiple reader"
Hi, dear Xapianers! I've been using Xapian in my project recently. The feature "single writer, multiple reader" is one of my favorite, but currently I can't make it work. My goal is to add more documents to the database increamentally, while the Xapian search process is not stopped. I followed "quickstartindex.cc" and "quickstartsearch.cc" on

core dumped when using MatchAll in multi-threads
Hi, We have a search service based on xapian, when receving a request, we create several threads to create xapian-query and search in the corresponding databases, and then merge all results together. In some case, we use Xapian::Query::MatchAll to create the query, but it always has Segmentation fault (core dumped). It looks like some pointers are double freed. This is the function that we use

xapian-tcpsrv need to reopen database?
Hi, I'm adapting the omega (in a Python way ;) to do search across multiple remotes database, for now, I have only one xapian-tcpsrc running, but I have documents being inserted at the same time, so (like I have readed in others e-mails) the xapian-tcpsrc throw the following message: Connection from 192.168.0.101, port 64161 Got exception DatabaseModifiedError: The revision being read has

performance on document.get_data()
I got some performance issue for document.get_data() and enquire.get_mset(). It costs 35 seconds for matches = enquire.get_mset(0,200), and 3 seconds for iterating all doc in matches to get_data. Is't normal? My index contains 30millions documents. I use python binding to operate xapian. Bellow it's my index structure # value: 0:date, 1:site # data: json message which contains: author,

Problems when linking to R shared library
Folks, I'm fairly sure that I'm doing something stupid, but I'm getting a few really strange results from *some* of the distributions, but by no means all, when I link directly to the R shared library. I've tried this on both Windows with the precompiled Mingw binary of R-2.5.0 (compiling my code with MinGW-3.4.2), and by building R-2.5.0 on Mandriva Linux with gcc-3.4.4 and

Parse LLVM IR
Hello, I am a newbie to LLVM and right now I am on the hook to parse some IR code and do some instrumentations. However, my problem is that no matter how I tweak my parsing code, it simply cannot print out anything. So here is my C code: int your_fun(int arg2) { int x = arg2; return x+2; } And here is my parsing code: #include <llvm/IR/Module.h> #include

How to ensure thread-safety
Hi, I have read the concurrency webpage from the Xapian documentation: http://getting-started-with-xapian.readthedocs.io/en/latest/concepts/concurrency.html But it is still not clear to me how to ensure thread-safety when using libxapian (C++ API). Usually when doing multi-threading many threads can read the same variable concurrently without locking provided none of the threads modifies the

[LLVMdev] Lowering operations to 8-bit!
I moved my code to 2.1 but still the same. If I make ADD i16 legal, then it goes through, but it has problem expanding it to i8. Should I go ahead and customize it and do the same for all instructions? Or there is a more general thing that I can do? trouble with user's right indexing with omega
Hi, I'm using omindex to index files and I want make query with user/group boolean prefix (I*, I at ... and I#...). That work well with "other" and "group" right, but not in all case for "user" right. Here is an example: assume that we have an user "ftp" not in "users" group. If file right are: -rw-r------ 1 ftp users 13 2013-10-06

[LLVMdev] MCJIT/interpreter and iostream
As of LLVM 3.2, is it possible to use iostream with the MCJIT or interpreter execution engines? I'm getting some errors... Each of these commands correctly prints "hello": echo -e '#include <stdio.h>\nint main(){ printf("hello"); }' | clang -cc1 -emit-llvm-bc -x c++ | lli -use-mcjit echo -e '#include <iostream>\nint main(){ std::cout <<
