Using boolean terms in PHP bindings
OK, I'm indexing my data with the scriptindex. I want to be able to
restrict the search by the category field. Do I need to do anything to
the data itself? Like, literally prefix it with the characters "XC"?
Below is my indexor for scriptindex and the my php code...
document_id : field=ref unique=Q boolean=Q
search_id : field=document_id index=S
document_title : field=title

Libreoffice on 7.6
When I try to run libreoffice on CentOS 7.6 for a slide show (using my
macro that I have always used since CentOS 6.0) I get a runtime error that
"Presentation is not found". I updated then to the current download 6.1.2
and tried again - I get the same error.
If I go back to a 7.5 machine - same macro - it works just fine. This
happens on any of my CentOS 7.6 machines.
Any idea why

Patch lovin'' for #2018? ("rake appdoc fails on Windows systems")
Gurus (Guri? heh),
We got burned today by #2018 ("rake appdoc fails on Windows systems"),
and did a bunch of ferreting around (starting at the problems in
rdoc,rake,rdoc.bat) and ultimately came back to the conclusion that the
cleanest way to fix the problem is just a variation on a suggestion
already posted in that ticket.
I wrote up a patch against trunk from the suggestion there and

Currently I have the following indexscript:
pid : unique=Q boolean=Q field=pid
postdate : field=startdate

url : field=url

How can I create the same indexing using PHP?
With this, I can get an searchable index, but I have no idea how to set the fields, so that I

Omega: behavior msize when collapsing results
Hello list,
I have a problem with the value of the result size ($msize in
omegascript) when collapsing results. The index contains 151452
documents. I'm using Omega 1.0.18 on FreeBSD (I tried both the version
in ports and the latest one from xapian.org). This is my indexscript:
uniqueid: boolean=Q unique=Q field=uniqueid
objectid: field=objectid boolean=XID value=0

You need to tell PHP to look in the root namespace, e.g.:
$test = new \XapianWritableDatabase('searchdb');

QueryParser: aliases and OP_AND
Hello,
I'm wondering about how the QueryParser parses a query containing an "alias" when the default operator is OP_AND
(by "alias", I mean a search field mapped to multiple term prefixes).
With the following php code :
<?php
$parser=new XapianQueryParser();
$parser->set_default_op(XapianQuery::OP_AND);
$parser->add_prefix('alias', 'AUT1:');

Xapian 1.0.1 released
I've now uploaded Xapian 1.0.1, which you can download from the usual

This release mainly comprises bug fixes and performance improvements.
The "simple" examples (for both C++ and the bindings) have also been

QueryParser : some remarks
Hi to all,
First, I would like to say a big thank you for the work which was done
on my 'wish bug' to allow mapping one field to multiple prefixes
(http://www.xapian.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=93).
That's great!
I have upgraded to 1.0.4 and I am revisiting my code, replacing the php
query parser I wrote with Xapian's one.
Everything works well, but I have some

Searching using prefixes
Hi guys
I'm trying to figure out how I can use probabilistic searching on a
given field within a document; I've written to the list about this
before, but haven't quite figured out what's required and, following a
little research, I think I understand what I need to do but I'd like a
clarification on this.
