Yumex, yum-utils
I saw the link someone posted to SL (Scientific Linux) yumex rpm's. I
grabbed the SRPMS, changed some references from SL to CentOS in the
spec files and rebuilt the RPMS. I managed to get yumex up and
running by manually configuring yumex.conf.
What is the use of the yum-utils and the dozen or so utilities? Are
there any docs? (Bearing in mind my hack may have damaged the SL
installation)

howto install yumex
Try "sudo yum install yumex" without *. It's a package distributed by
EPEL. Have you installed the EPEL repro?
Cheers

Yumex-Error in loading repository data
On a CentOS 4 desktop Yumex gives the error message
"Error in loading repository data" but yum works fine
from the cli. Could something have been broken in
yumex? Putting yumex in debug mode does not give me
clues as to the error message.
Thanks,

lost CentOS repositories from yum
Hi,
I was using yum, which was working very well. Then I decided to try
yumex, and installed yumex, which again worked fine. But, after that,
when I came back to use console yum, it started giving error messages.
So, I removed yumex and tried, in vain. Then I removed yum, and
installed it with rpmforge repository.
It works fine, but I only have rpmforge repository. How can I add

Yumex in 6.5 minimal -
When I start yumex as user it displays but stops with an error message
that the backend is not running.
However "yumex --root" starts and runs normally.
It is Centos 6.5 64 bit and using XFCE running in virtualbox if that
matters.
Any suggestion as to what I am missing?

This is the URL.
