Adaptec adp94xx - anyone using it?
The latest adp94xx chipset is now available on some SuperMicro motherboards.
I was wondering has tried the driver with CentOS 4.2?
Any thoughts on the driver performance?
Does SMART work?
Etc.
Thanks,

Using Scalar Evolution to Identify Expressions Evolving in terms of Loop induction variables
Hi,
I am using Scalar Evolution to extract access expressions (for load and store instructions) in terms of the loop induction variables.
I observe that the Scalar Evolution analysis is returning more expressions than I expect - including ones that are not defined
in terms of the loop induction variable. For instance in the following code:
for(unsigned long int bid = 0; bid < no_of_queries;

Using Scalar Evolution to Identify Expressions Evolving in terms of Loop induction variables
Hi Hashim,
Scalar evolution determines evolution of scalar in terms of expression
chain driving it.
Try dumping the detailed log using opt -analyze -scalar-evolution <.ll> -S
, and look for LoopDispositions
corresponding to different expression which shows variance characteristics
of a particular expression w.r.t
loop i.e. [computable/variant/invariant].

Anyone get the Adaptec-39320A driver to install?
I'm trying to get the RHEL-5 version of their kernel driver to install
with no luck so far.
http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/scsi/u320/ASC-39320A-R/
Here is what I'm seeing when I install their provided .RPM:

Adaptec 39320A woes
I'm having speed problems with the SCSI card we're using to do tape
backup. It seems to be functioning in 16 bit mode and the current
thinking is that perhaps it's using a legacy driver instead of the
correct one. The Adaptec site has a 'driver' for RHEL5 which I've
downloaded and tried to install but it seems to have a problem
installing on a CentOS-5 system.

Supermicro Adaptec AIC-9410 HostRAID controller

CentOS 5.3?
I'm working with a Supermicro X7DBR-3 motherboard. It has 2 "ICH Raid
Codebase" options in the Bios (Intel and Adaptec); neither of which seem
to change Linux's behavior. The interesting part though, choosing
either Adaptec or Intel, then performing

Typo, meant to say RFC2822, which they still supercede, not that the

optim seems to be finding a local minimum
Hello!
I am trying to create an R optimization routine for a task that's
currently being done using Excel (lots of tables, formulas, and
Solver).
However, otpim seems to be finding a local minimum.
Example data, functions, and comparison with the solution found in
Excel are below.
I am not experienced in optimizations so thanks a lot for your advice!

RAID storage - SATA, SCSI, or Fibre Channel?
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 and am looking to add more storage. I know a lot
of factors can go into the type of answer given, but for present and future
technology planning, should I look for a rack of SATA, SCSI, or fibre channel
drives? Maybe I'm dating myself with fibre channel, and possibly SCSI?
I may be looking to add a few TB now, and possibly more later.

Centos 4 and Supermicro ICH7R
Hi:
I've tried to install centos 4.3 in a raid array, setuped on bios as
mode "Adaptec". The chip is ICH7R but centos always sees 2 drives
instead of the array that I create.
I've contacted Supermicro support and they gave me this link
ftp://ftp.supermicro.com/driver/SATA/Adaptec_ICH7R/Linux/Redhat/ , but
the disk drivers I tried to use with centos 4.3 did not work, saying

"All resource specifications require names": wot?
Hi, everyone --
I downloaded puppet and have been playing with it. I''m using the RPM''s for RHE4 created by David (mentioned on the install page: http://people.redhat.com/dlutter/yum/rhel4/) with RHE''s ruby 1.8.1-7:
ruby-1.8.1-7.EL4.8
ruby-libs-1.8.1-7.EL4.8
ruby-devel-1.8.1-7.EL4.8
I''m sure this is an easy one; all the same, I''m stumped. Please

Help with ldap configuration please
This is on RHE4, I am getting an invalid DN error. Is there a good resource
site for this type of configuration issue? There is a lot of info that comes
up through google but I am having no luck finding anything relevant (or that
seems relevant to me). Thank you in advance and sorry about the newbie
question.

SMBSH is really neat. After you compile and install it (./configure
--enable-smbwrapper ; make ; make install does it) you simply run it -
it'll give you a login/pw and your usual shell prompt. You then can
