How do I create a clean build environment?
I get interesting results on this one. If I run rpm -q -a | grep i386 as root, I get this: nspluginwrapper-i386-0.9.91.1-1 If I run as my local non-root user, I get this: libgcc-3.4.6-3.i386 libselinux-1.19.1-7.2.i386 libstdc++-3.4.6-3.i386 krb5-libs-1.3.4-33.i386 dbus-glib-0.22-12.EL.7.i386 flash-plugin-9.0.31.0-release.i386 libart_lgpl-2.3.16-3.i386

R-devel Digest, Vol 167, Issue 25
Hi, Short answer: import 'as.matrix' and export your method(s) for it. From WRE: "All S4 classes to be used outside the package need to be listed in an exportClasses directive. Alternatively, they can be specified using exportClassPattern.(46) in the same style as for exportPattern. To export methods for generics from other packages an exportMethods directive can be used."

Matrix package breaks as.matrix method
Georgi, Brilliant, thank you very much for the helpful reply and explanation! I added 'importFrom("Matrix","as.matrix")' to my NAMESPACE and all worked fine! As my 'as.matrix' method is used entirely internally to the 'testmat' function (and not "used outside the package"), I don't think I actually need to export it. In my case, testmat is

unable to compile llvm with gcc 4.7.4
+pcc who added the NativeObjectStream class Looks like a known gcc bug, fixed in 4.8: https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53613 Not sure what we do in cases like this, if it is a gcc bug. W2K8 ADS, sernet pkgs (debian)
Hi All! I use on my debian stable hosts here only sernet pkgs with samba 3.0.32. It works perfectly with Windows 2008 ADS. On my unstble host I have the 'standard' debian sid pkgs with samba 3.2.3. I have there a problem. It does work 45min - 1h and then I get this error with wbinfo -t: checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed error code was NT_STATUS_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER_NOT_FOUND

Building GCC 3.2.3
Hello! I'm trying to build GCC 3.2.3 in CentOS 5. I wonder if there are some script or manual that contains all the configure options? Is GCC 3.2.3 built with all patches gcc32-* applied? What I really need is GCC 3.2.3 with the same options as in original one and the same pathches + 1 applied. This patch fixes the erroneous write in linkonce section. Thanks in advance, Igor

difficulty in Ubuntu 14.04 apt-getting R 3.3.2
Hi: I have a Dockerfile, which builds an image which installed R 3.3.2 in Ubuntu 14.04, but building using that Dockerfile seems to have stopped working and I am unclear why. I believe the relevant error is: Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet
