Fwd: the same function returning different values when called differently..
Hi Akshay,
(Please include r-help when replying)
You have learned that PFC.NS and snl[[159]] are not identical. Now you have
to figure out why they differ. This could also point to a bug or a logic
error in your program.
Figuring out how two objects differ can be a bit tricky, but with
experience it becomes easier. (Some others may even have some suggestions
for good ways to do it.)

installing package 'kinship'
Dear All,
I have problem installing the 'kinship' package. I used the
'install.packages' from R command line and had no problem installing other
packages before.
Here is what I get:

RSPerl & OS X
Hi,
I'm wanting to call R from Perl via the RSPerl package. However I cannot
seem to install it on my Macbook (OS X Tiger - R 2.6 - Perl 5.8.6). I try to
install the source downloaded from the sigmahat website - but it seems to
fail - when I search my system for R.pm - I can't find it? Something looks
to be going wrong with the make bits?
Cheers

Fwd: Re: Problem installing R packages
Hi,
I am trying to install the R libraries "rmutil" and "repeated" on a Mac OS
X version 10.4.1 (which has the latest version of the Mac Developer tools
installed) and I am having trouble compiling the libraries.
The error message I receive is as follows (I have only included the error
message when I try and install the rmutil library):

Installing odesolve under MacOSX
Installing odesolve in Raqua 1.8.0 or 1.8.1 under MacOSX gives the following
message:
Warning message: Installation of package odesolve had non-zero exit status

Moreover, in the source of odesolve is no makefile.
Does anyone know how to get a proper installation?

Compilation error on mgcv_1.1-7 on OS X (10.3)
Greetings
I run into a compilation error when updating to mgcv_1.1-7 in R 2.0.0 on
OS X 10.3. Note that other pacakges have compiled nicely.
Some details are given below, but in short it looks like it's seeking for
/usr/local/lib/powerpc-apple-darwin6.8/3.4.2/
which I don't have. But I do have
/usr/lib/gcc/darwin/3.3
i.e a lower version of GCC in a different directory. More

ROracle issue with shared library and RMySQL
Hello,
Someone posted this same issue back in May 2003 and hasn't yet resolved the
situation. I hope someone can provide some additional light.
After starting R I attempt to load the ROracle library and receive the
following message:

UPS issues with PFC PSU
Just noticed that our new server has a newer 80+ efficiency 865W PSU
with PFC. So apparenty our existing 1500VA (865W) APC Back-UPS is not
safe to use anymore. We apparently need a pure sine wave UPS.
http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8883
I found an affordable 1500VA UPS by CyberPower, model CP1500PFCLCD,
which has a pure sine wave output.
Wondering if anyone has experience with

C7, igb and DCB support for pause frame ?
Hi there,
I?m working on deploying our new cluster.
Masters have 5?1gbps (i210 and i350, thus using igb.ko), configured
with mtu 9000, 802.3ad. Works fine *but* I can?t get DCB working
(pause frame, aka flow control, which is supported by and enabled on
our switches).

Install RSPerl in Leopard
Hi,
I am having problems installing RSPerl 0.92-1 in my Mac OSX 10.5.1.
I?ve installed correctly R-2.6.1 with the .mpkg.
I run the next command: <R CMD INSTALL --configure-args=' --with-in-

And the next error message appears:

RAqua and gcc
Hi,
I've recently purchased PowerBookG4 (panther) and installed RAqua 1.8.1.
I also installed gcc version 3.3 through Xcode tools. But, for some
reason, I'm having a hard time getting gcc work with R. For example, I get
the following error while installing Hmisc package. I would appreciate any
suggestion to fix this problem.
Thanks
Kosuke
