building on RHEL 5/CentOS 5
RHEL5 has autoconf 2.59 and automake 1.9.6. I've managed to build the whole Xapian family by reducing the requirement to 2.59/1.9.6 in configure.ac. Omega requires docdir which can be added by hand in docs/Makefile.am: docdir = ${datadir}/doc/${PACKAGE} if !MAINTAINER_NO_DOCS dist_doc_DATA = $(RSTHTML) endif All I've done is get these packages compiled - I haven't tested in any

[FTS Xapian] Beta release
In your README.md, perhaps "This project intends to provide a straightforward and simple *procedure *to configure FTS plugin for Dovecot, leveraging the efforts by the Xapian.org team." is better?? Also in the part after cloning from git: ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-dovecot=/path/to/dovecot [ This /path/to/dovecot is not obvious. Is it the dovecot binary or what??] On Mon, 14 Jan

[PATCH libguestfs 1/2] build: invoke autopoint and autoreconf with --force
The last patch was incomplete, since autoreconf must also be run with -f/--force. This change also updates the gnulib submodule to the latest, in order to pull in the progname change I made yesterday to give sensible names in diagnostics like this one: $ ./guestfish --version > /dev/full guestfish: write error: No space left on device Once the second change is pushed, you will have

[CMake] Hardcoded rpath?
I'm looking at an issue for Homebrew (OS X package manager) where the compiled libc++ tries to load libc++abi at "@rpath/libc++abi.1.dylib", resulting in a dyld error. The issue can be found at https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew/issues/47149 From what I can tell, this is a result of lines 561-564 of the CMakeLists.txt in the main LLVM repo: set(CMAKE_BUILD_WITH_INSTALL_RPATH ON)

Where is configure
Hello, I downloaded the complete src from cvs. and as normal, I try to run ./configure, but it does not exist. All the documentation talks about it, but it is nowhere to be found. Was it removed from src? Dan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac-dev/attachments/20120409/89df06a8/attachment.htm

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Use GCC_INSTALL_PREFIX for rpath if set.
The behavior of automatically detecting libraries installed in the same prefix feels like magic to me anyway. Perhaps it would be better to have project-level variables for specifying the path to them individually? The default value for them could remain as origin/../lib which would keep from breaking things. On Thu May 29 2014 at 7:06:17 PM, Chandler Carruth <chandlerc at google.com>

Fedora Core 6 (FC6) and Asterisk-1.2.13 and Zaptel-1.2.10 compile problems
All, I have upgraded by home machine from Fedora Core 5 (FC5) to the recent FC6 and am struggling to build Zaptel-1.2.10 and Asterisk-1.2.13 on the box... which is an Intep P4 2.8GHz HT processor box with 845 chipset, hence the kernel installed is 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6-i686 so we hve this: [root@gate zaptel-1.2.10]# uname -a Linux gate.tubby.org 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 14:54:20
