TDM400 in aging Dell Optiplex
I've got an old Dell Optiplex (Pentium-II, 1998 Vintage) which is successfully running an X100P card. I'm hoping to upgrade to a TDM400. Has anybody tried running these cards in old Optiplex machines? I'm not particularly worried about horsepower - more about the motherboard having a PCI bus that's able to power up the card... -Ronan

pv_ops dom0 testing
I am trying to get a pv_ops dom0 working for testing, but I am running into an elf_init error: (XEN) *** LOADING DOMAIN 0 *** (XEN) elf_init: not an ELF binary Full output attached. >From what I have read on the mailing lists, it seems that it is usually a problem with either grub or a corrupt dom0 kernel. Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
I'm not exactly sure what you need. Is this it? ISOLINUX 4.06 0x513e88f5 isolinux: Starting up, DL = 82 isolinux: Loaded spec packet OK, drive = 82 isolinux: Main image LBA = 0000011D isolinux: Main image read, jumping to main code... I created an iso with isolinux-debug.bin as the boot loader and booted it on that machine. If this is not what you are looking for, what are correct steps?

pci passthrough under xen-3.3 without VT-d
Hi all! I''m hoping someone here might be able to help. I''m familiar with several UNIX''es, though farily new to Linux... I''m running RHEL 5.2. I''ve got the RHEL kernel headers installed, etc, and compiled xen-3.3. Once that was built, I rebuilt libvirt, etc, the kernel, and all the modules. The whole mess boots and runs fine... mostly. My hardware

no console when using xl toolstack xen 4.1.2
Hello! I was asking for help on the Freenode channel, and I was pointed here. I have a situation where, using xl, I can create a functional PV domU, with or without pv-grub, but I cannot access the console. Firing up xend and using xm works without trouble. Since xend and company is being deprecated, I would like to transition to using the xl toolstack. The system is an Arch Linux system

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
Sorry for the delay, we were too busy drinking and playing with explosives yesterday. :) Here are some tests. We did one on a similar machine and it worked. IOMMU/AMD-Vi not working after XSA-36 with 970A-UD3
Dear mailinglist, I own a Gigabyte motherboard GA 970A UD3 with IOMMU support. Since the update XSA-36 (also part of the latest debian wheezy pkg), the IO-Virtualisation does not work any more as discussed on this mailinglist [0] and [1]. I like to ask, if there is an "official" solution in sight. I''m not sure about my alternatives. How "dangerous" is the

AMD IOMMU disabled - No Perdev Intremap
Hi! From other people posting to this list, I know that there has been a bug related to the issue described in Xen Security Advisory 36 that disables iommu for some AMD users like me. However, even when passing "iommu=no-amd-iommu-perdev-intremap" it still disables i/o virtualisatoin. Related Xen dmesg output: (XEN) IVHD Error: Invalid IO-APIC 0 (XEN) AMD-Vi: Error initialization

Xen and QNX
I am trying to get QNX working with Xen. I''ve going about it in a similar way as installing windows with Xen, but when I start the guest up to install the OS it hangs on the line: ''Hit Esc for .altboot.......'' If anyone has managed to get this working, or has any ideas/advice for me here it would be greatly appreciated! Bryan

xl create bug on first-attempt with passthrough
Hello, I recently swapped some components, and rebuilt my system. Changes to the configuration: - Wheezy Beta 1 > Wheezy Beta 2 - Kernel 3.4.9 > Kernel 3.4.11 I have tested the new Xen 4.2 stable, and Xen unstable revision 25777, both are giving me the same error so I do not believe it is related to a change in Xen. The first attempt to pass a PCI device after booting the system

Dell OptiPlex GX620 can longer boot from CD with syslinux-5.X
We have tried compiling the binaries our self and using the pre-compiled in the syslinux tar ball as well. It just locks up with the text we provided. The problem is booting from CD, booting from USB works. I suspect the problem is in isolinux.bin. The CD only fails on this one machine. It works on everything else we tried. 4.06 worked without any issue on this same machine. Parted Magic has been

[PATCH] [VTD] Add a check for interrupt remapping of ioapic RTE
For IOAPIC interrupt remapping, it only needs to remap ioapci RTE, should not remap other IOAPIC registers, which are IOAPIC ID, VERSION and Arbitration ID. This patch adds the check for this and only remap ioapci RTE. Unable to locate IOAPIC for GSI 2
(I accidently (cross) posted this also in the xen-bugs mailing list. This wasn''t my intention. Sorry for that) Hi, I have two kernels vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-amd64 vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64 As you can see, distributions are the same, the latter differs by loading xen stuff. When booting the xen kernel (vmlinuz-2.6.32-5-xen-amd64) I noticed a problem which does not occur in the non

dma_alloc_coherent issue with tg3 in x86_64 build
During boot of dom0, I get the following. Box is remote, so I''m now waiting for proxy power button pusher ;-) tg3 init fails doing dma_alloc_coherent (I assume this is from tg3_init_one -> tg3_test_dma -> pci_alloc_consistent -> dma_alloc_coherent). Looks like an issue with the amount of memory in dom0. Is this known? thanks, -chris root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is ext2fs,
