Re: Xen-users Digest, Vol 64, Issue 52
Dear James and Andrew!
Thanks much for the help, it seems that viridian=1 solved my problem!
I forced a heavy load last night and no reboots were issued!
I confirm that I had multiple cpus assigned and dom0 heavy load started the
reboot problema, but with viridian=1, everything is OK!
Thanks again for everything!
Regards,
Daniel

I tried to use cdrom in domU linux pv (Linux Mint 11 based on Natty).
With ''/mnt/vm/iso/test.iso,raw,xvdb,ro,cdrom'', Mint sees it as internal disk

I tried also ''/dev/scd0,raw,xvdb,ro,cdrom'' does the same thing.

Hi,
I'm trying to build llvm-gcc-4.2 on Ubuntu 11.04 (the Natty Narwhal).

Do you have any /lib64/libc.so* or /usr/lib64/libc.so* ?
Are you still setting LIBRARY_PATH or LD_LIBRARY_PATH, as mentioned in:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/738098
?
Thanks,
Jay.

Running Modern Warfare 2 on Ubuntu 11.04 Natty.
My hardware is Intel Core i7 4GB ram, Nvidea GeForce 310m graphics card. I installed my graphics drivers in Ubuntu 11.04 using the recommended techniques. My video drivers are noted as experimental however all features and 3D support is working in Ubuntu 11.04 gnome environment. I did not use the .run file downloadable from the Nvidea website. I have read the sticky about no sound. I have no sound

Patch fixing vlan handling when network-bridge script is used
We had problem using tagged vlans inside domU. Testing shows that this is caused by changing network interfaces in network-bridge script. Following patch should allow to use vlans in guest.
Testing scenario:
configure vlan network (e.g. vlan 1 on eth0 => eth0.1)
start xend
create domU and configure same vlan inside it
You can see that vlan is still <interface>.<vlan_id>. You can

btrfs device scan
I have a couple computers running 2.6.38
(Ubuntu Natty 2.6.38-8-generic), and on both of them
"btrfs device scan" comes back with nothing other than
"failed to read /dev/sr0"
One computer has a btrfs RAID-1 volume, and the other has two separate
btrfs filesystems. The results are the same whether the filesystems are
mounted or not.
Why is "btrfs device scan" not

Ubuntu package for dovecot 2.0.x from debian package
Hi,
I am running a server under Ubuntu 11.04(natty) and I would like to
install a 2.x version but
unfortunately the only package available is 1.2.15.
Of course I could compile and install from sources but I would prefer
to handle packages because
it's a lot simpler and cleaner.
After some research I found some debian packages available here :

Rename BTRfs to MuchSlowerFS ?
Hi list,
I don''t trust theoretical benchmarks that much and prefer "real-life
benchs" on the occasion, so here''s mine:
Given 4 laptops, the most powerful of which was running BTRFS and the
others ext3 or ext4, all machines running Ubuntu 11.04 Natty 32-bit with
a stock Ubuntu 2.6.38-11 kernel, all machines were given the following
FS-intensive task :

ubuntu kernels 2.6.39+ don''t boot as hvm domU
Hi!
I tried booting ubuntu natty/oneiric domUs with 2.6.39 and 3.0rc1
linux-image packages, but they all "just stop" after the kernel is
loaded and the init process should take over.
The problem must be within the linux-image package, since natty domUs
with the standard 2.6.38 kernel boot just fine.
I also have debian and gentoo domUs running 2.6.39 without issues, so
it''s

xen_emul_unplug on xen 4.1, HVM guest 2.6.38
I am running Xen 4 and want users to be able to install arbitrary HVM
images. We want both PV and emulated drivers to appear. The reason
for this is for compatibility with images that were prepared for
Xen 3.3, which assume emulated devices exist at boot time (particularly
for running the boot loader).
If I do not specify on the boot line xen_emul_unplug=never, then
under some guest OS''s
