performance with libvirt and kvm
Hi,
I am seeing a performance degradation while using libvirt to start my
vm (kvm). vm is fedora 12 and host is also fedora 12, both with
2.6.32.10-90.fc12.i686. Here are the statistics from iperf :
>From VM: [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 199 MBytes 55.7 Mbits/sec
>From host : [ 3] 0.0-30.0 sec 331 MBytes 92.6 Mbits/sec
libvirt command as seen from ps output :
/usr/bin/qemu-kvm -S -M

LXC libvirt support
Hi,
Has anyone used libvirt to start/stop/manage LXC (linux containers) ?
Is it supported at all? Last I tried, had few issues and the reply was

Note that libvirt lxc driver is a different implementation from lxc tools
and doesn't use lxc tools internally. You may not be able to do what
you are doing with lxc tools. Especially, the driver doesn't take aware

When I do the following:

If i do
./in.tftpd -l -s /tftpboot -v
then it works fine. But i need remap feature for my project.

significant terms in spline model using GAM
Hi.. I'm using gam() to fit a spline model for a data set that has two predictor
variables (say A and B). The results indicate that the higher order interaction
terms are significant. The R^2 jumps from .5 to .9 when I change the maximum
order for the interaction from 10 to 15 (i.e. (AB)^10 to (AB)^15). Is there any
way of finding out which of the terms in the model are really

using both ConnectTo and AutoConnect to avoid network partitions
Hi Guus
Thanks for clarifying. Some follow up questions:
- How do we patch 1.1pre14 with this fix? Or will there be a 1.1pre15 to
upgrade to?
- What is the workaround until we patch with this fix? Using a combination
of AutoConnect and ConnectTo?
- When we use ConnectTo, is it mandatory to have a cert file in the hosts/*
dir with an IP to ConnectTo ?

spline with multiple predictor vars?
Hi, is there a way in R to generate a polynomial spline with multiple predictor
variables? I have one response and two predictors and I'm trying to fit a
spline model for this...
Please cc me on the reply..
Thanks,

Upgrading 1.1pre14 nodes to 1.1pre15 in an existing mesh
Hi
I have a Tinc cluster of about 100 nodes, and they are all running tinc
1.1pre14.
I'd like to upgrade to tinc 1.1pre15.
Is there a suggested mechanism to do this while keeping the cluster up?
For instance can I simply automate the installation of tinc 1.1pre15 on
each node and reload the existing configuration using 'tinc reload'
Will the temporary state of having a mix set of

This would help since dead nodes do not clutter the visual representation.
What are the effects, if any, of dead nodes in the hosts/ dir?
Thanks

Difference in ANOVA results - R vs. JMP/Minitab
Hi,
I ran a small data set from a factorial experiment through R, Minitab
and JMP... the result from R is significantly different from what
Minitab or JMP give... The data set is at the following link:
http://www.personal.psu.edu/nug107/Uploads/2x3_16repsANOVA.txt
The first 5 columns are the factors and the next three are responses.
In particular, for the response beta11MSE, two of the

1.2.6 compile failures
Hi,
I'm trying to compile ocfs2 1.2.6 on a 2.6.21 kernel (with rsbac and pax
patches), but I can't get this to work ..
In 2.6.20 there was an change in the definition of the INIT_WORK macro
(http://lkml.org/lkml/2006/12/5/269)
this seems to cause my problems (see below) but even after removing the
third parameter of the INIT_WORK calls
the compile fails (see second compile failure).

purge doesn't remove dead nodes
Hi
We have several stale nodes in our tinc network and I'd like to remove
these.
These nodes show up in graph dumps as red nodes, indicating they are
unreachable.
We run: tinc -n <vpn-name> purge
Nothing happens. If we tail the logs at /var/log/syslog, we dont see an ack
or message concerning the purge either. The dead nodes still show up in the
graphs and their certs are still

ext4?
Listee's...
I have a 5.5 box and I have formatted a partition as ext4 however I
can't mount it, the mount command is telling me its an unknown file
system type. fsck tells me the partition is a clean ext4 partition but
I can't mount it.
Some reasearch has lead me to believe the problem is that ext4 isn't
enabled in the kernel by default in 5.5 (this was originally a 5.2 box

Re: [Fedora-xen] another xen build and pvops kernel
Just wondering why kernel-2.6.32.23-170.xendom0.fc12.src.rpm cannot make itself
into F14. It seems pretty stable. Why it cannot be just a package available via "yum install" . Anyway Fedora''s Libvirt has the best compatibility with Xen 4.0.1.
It''s not too late switch back to Xen with PVOPS kernel. XenLinux 2.6.34.7 aka Suse
is really dangerous . It outperforms pvops

Introduction and Doubts
Tf-idf is most used used weighting scheme is easy to understand and has
been used in other frameworks like lucene and many other places.
okapi bm25(implemented in xapian) is theoretically better/improved measure
than tf-idf and
i am looking into various other weighting scheme which are there in xapian
or can be implemented like TF-ICF(term frequecy inverse corpus
