[ subscripting sometimes loses names (PR#8192)
--rwEMma7ioTxnRzrJ Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline R, like recent versions of S-Plus, sometimes - but not always - loses names when subscripting objects with "[". (Earlier versions of S and S-Plus had the correct, name-preserving behavior.) This seems bad, it would be better to remove names only by explicit request, not as an accidental

Please make Pre-3.1 read.csv (type.convert) behavior available
Hi, We at 0xdata use Java and R together, and the new behavior for read.csv has made R unable to read the output of Java?s Double.toString(). This, needless to say, is disruptive for us. (Actually, it was downright shocking.) +1 for restoring old behavior. Thanks, Tom

Feature request - umask for index files
I'd like a separate feature for setting umask for index and cache files differently from email files. The reason is that I'm putting indexes in a separate location and I need group create rights in directories. Otherwise what happens is that the first user creates the directories, but the second user for the domain that has a different UID gets an error. default_mail_env =

Cannot change directory permissions
Hello, I occasionally need to remove the write permissions from directories inside a share to prevent users from accidentally deleting files inside that directory. My problem is that I neither can view nor can change the permissions of directories on my shares. Curiously enough viewing and changing permissions of files in the same shares works without a problem. Is there anything I

R Package Installation Ignores libPaths Setting
Good day, I believe from the documentation that folders in R_LIBS should appear in the output of .libPaths, but they do not. The documentation contains "The library search path is initialized at startup from the environment variable R_LIBS ..." However, $ export R_LIBS=/users/stgrad/dario/tmp/ $ Rscript -e ".libPaths()" [1] "/dskh/nobackup/biostat/Bioconductor"

Unable to Connect to OpenVMS Pathworks
This is my first time posting on this list, so please excuse me if this is the wrong list to post on (if it is please just let me know). I've recently upgraded my old Redhat 8.0 box to Redhat Fedora Core 8 which comes with Samba 3.x while my old Redhat 8.0 box had Samba 2.x. On my old box I had SMB map a drive from an older OpenVMS server using Pathworks. I performed this by simply doing:

rsync filter rules ignored by rsnapshot
Hello guys, sorry for cross-posting, but imho it could be an error in my rsnapshot setup as well as in my rsync setup. If there is a solution on one of these mailing-lists i will post it to the other one as well. ok? here is my question: when running rsnapshot, my exclude filter is being ignored, but i don't see why. grep -v "#" /etc/rsnapshot-debx40.conf | grep . gives

Cannot change directory permissions
Hi Rowland, when saying 'I' I theoretically meant any user that has write access to the share. It should be possible to right click the directory in windows, the go to security tab and remove the write permissions on the directory. This behaviour already works with files, I'm trying to figure out how to make it also work for directories. Greetings, Felix -----Ursprüngliche

[PATCH]x86:x2apic: Disable x2apic on x86-32 permanently
x86:x2apic: Disable x2apic on x86-32 permanently x2apic initialization on x86_32 uses vcpu pointer before it is initialized. As x2apic is unlikely to be used on x86_32, this patch disables x2apic permanently on x86_32. It also asserts the sanity of vcpu pointer before dereference to prevent further misuse.
