director lmtp -> smtp problem
Hi Timo & Dovecot users,
We have a 2-node director setup which front-ends for 4 nodes which share
a clustered filesystem (GFS). All nodes run Dovecot 2.0.18.
Approximately 40k users, but typically only a few thousand active at any
time.
The director nodes run sendmail, which deliver mail "locally" using LMTP
to the director, which then feeds to SMTP on the real servers (also

panic with lmtp proxy (assertion failed)
Hello!
Got a panic&assertion failed with LMTP proxy. Target Dovecot LMTP
server hanged and Dovecot LMTP proxy server started logging
panics/assertions. Core dumps were disabled unfortunately, so I don't
know if this is helpful at all:

dovecot director terminate ssl ?
I plan on putting two dovecot directors in front of our backend dovecot
pop/imap servers, instead of our current haproxy loadbalancing of the
connections -- but how do we handle SSL in such a setup. Will all SSL be
terminated on the directors automatically, and then proxyed plain text,
or is there any configuration needed to achieve this ?
Does it matter that the directors are v2.0 while the

Proxy Arp
Hopefully this is an easy question....
I''m using a leaf router (bearing) running shorewall. Three interfaces net,
loc, and dmz. Only one computer in the dmz and its being proxy arp''d.
External and internal (net and loc) can reach the dmz but the dmz cannot
reach the isp''s gateway and beyond, but can reach a system adjacent to the
firewall.

is it possible to let two nodes in different LAN directly connected with another public server ?
pc1(LANa) ----poor connection ----> VPS <--------- PC2(LANb)
pc1 and pc2 used to connected directly with tinc, since pc1 used to have
WAN IP(pppoe),
but the pppoe IP is not WAN IP anymore (ISP changed to let all ADSL user in
a LAN).
if I let the two pc connect to a VPS with tinc,
can later connections between pc1 and pc2 be directly ?
for example, ssh from pc1 to pc2 but not proxyed by

TCP connection forwarding troubles
For some time I have routinely websurfed across a forwarded TCP
connection using SSH. The other end of the TCP tunnel connects to a
Squid proxy cache on the same machine.
This usually works. But I see lots of error messages on each end of
the form

Broadcasting DTMF to confbridge users or DTMF passthrough
Hi,
Trying to properly broadcast / relay DTMF digits to other confbridge users, but does not appear to work. Goal is to have a conference user be able to receive the DTMF, so it has the effect of being 'broadcasted.'
I have the following set up in 'confbridge.conf':
dtmf_passthrough=yes
From logger.conf, I can see the DTMF tones via setting "console => dtmf". When

From 1.4 to 1.8: stdexten issue
Hello all,
I'm in the middle of upgrading my asterisk setup to 1.8 (1.8.2.3) and
I'm completely confused by the gosub/stdexten thing.
I used to call the stdexten macro but I haven't been able to figure out
how to use Gosub.
I'm using the sample extensions.conf and added something like this:

Consider increasing the size of HSIZE
The HSIZE constant, which sets the size of the hash table used to
store symbols is currently defined as `#define HSIZE 4119`. This value
was last increased in r5182 on 1999-07-15.
https://github.com/jimhester/hashsize#readme contains a code which
simulates a normal R workflow by loading a handful of packages. In the
example more than 20,000 symbols are included in the hash table,
resulting in a

Postfix/Dovecot/lmtp with virtual and local users
Hi all,
I'm about to change my Debian mailserver setup from
Postfix/dovecot1/procmail to Postfix/dovecot2/sieve with lmtp enabled.
After enabling lmtp the virtual users can receive e-mails but not the
local users:

NetworkManger creates extra bonds; is this a bug?
Hi Neil,
Thanks for your comments. What's the purpose of creating spurious ?bond0??
It's confusing. Is it anywhere documented?
Every time I restart NetworkManager it creates another bond0!

predicted time length differs from survfit.coxph:
Hello All,
Does anyone know why length(fit1$time) < length(fit2$n) in survfit.coxph
output? Why is the predicted time length is not the same as the number of
samples (n)?
I tried: example(survfit.coxph).
Thanks,

Yearly statistics
Dear R-experts,
Sorry if I've overlooked a simple solution here. I have calculated a
proportion of the number of observations which meet a criteria, applied to
five years of data. How can I break down this proportion statistic for each
year?
For example (data in zoo format):
