Using getmail with sieve
I'm trying to setup a personal "mailmover" where I use getmail to retrieve remote IMAP server mail and load it into my local Dovecot then filter all email on the Dovecot server side with sieve. (I'm using Dovecot v. 2.0.9 with IMAP/Maildir.) 1) From the docs I gather that Dovecot sieve will not work as mail is loaded by getmail and I need to refilter the email after it has been

Refilter Mailboxes via Sieve - Missing delivered-to header
Hello, i already read http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail but it won't work here :( I have many old mails in my folders and need to refilter many of them. But there are many mails without a delivered-to-header. What can i do? Error: Configuration error: envelope_recipient specified header missing (delivered-to:1) Would be okay if getmail would just skip the mail, but it cancels.

Redelivery of mdbox messages to pass through sieve
Hey, I've been slack and haven't updated my sieve script for yonks, and finally got round to it. What I was wondering is whether there was a way to basically take all the messages from a folder and pass it through sieve again. I've found earlier messages in this list, but they were for Maildir format, not mdbox which I use now. Does anyone know of a way to do this? Cheers, Hugh

Dovecot namespace solved while writing; preparing to refilter
Hi! My plea to readers: =================== Pls., people who only want strictly technical issues to read, and frown at any broader context regardless how intrinsically related, but not strictly technically related, it might be, skip all the way, all the way to, search for exact words: "strictly technical" or visually, find two lines of sole "===" characters. Thank you!

dovecot lda & sieve: resubmit folder for resieving
Hi, I'm currently restructuring my mail archives and migrated from a decade and a half old procmail supported solution to sieve. While doing so I often found that I'd like to filter a bunch of messages (with "bunch" in the area of 1-10K) with my shiny new sieve script. I found in the wiki a way to do that: http://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/RefilterMail And it works well, it picks

Hello, I'm attempting to use sieve-filter on a local mailbox. Restoring individual messages from a backup into a Maildir setup?
We have a user who deleted IMAP folders from his account, so I simply tried to restore the folder ".FolderName" from our backup. I checked that file/folder ownership was the same as the original, but the Dovecot IMAP server is throwing errors at the client. I've tried copying the individual message files from the "cur" folders in the backup directory, but Dovecot
