Dovecot v2.0.13 unix_listeners
Could somebody be able to explain to me what the various unix_listeners do in the Dovecot 2.x configuration (specifically in 10-master.conf). Currently, for postfix to use for local delivery, I have: service lmtp { unix_listener /var/spool/postfix/private/dovecot-lmtp { group = postfix mode = 0660 user = postfix } } and for auth I have: service auth { unix_listener

v2.0.13 problems after kernel patch for CVE-2011-1083 applied on Centos 5
Greetings, This email is both a request for assistance/help and a heads-up. [8irgehuq] CVE-2011-1083: Algorithmic denial of service in epoll. After ksplice automatically installed the above patch on our mail servers, most/all IMAP/POP3 connections began experiencing time-outs trying to connect, or extreme timeouts in the auth procedure. dovecot: imap-login: Disconnected (no auth attempts):

mail location change generates various errors
I have a sendmail/dovecot imap/pop3 system that has been running with the following mail_location: mail_location = mbox:/var/empty:INBOX=/var/spool/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/indexes/%u In order to reduce errors and simplify operation I removed imap and am now only responding to pop3. I'd like to also simplify the mail_location to get rid of index errors since I don't need indexes:

Newbie: unable to access mailbox more than once
Hello, I'm using dovecot as a mail relay so that I can back up my providers IMAP mail locally. I'm impressed how easy this was to set up, but I'm having a quirk that I would like help with, if possible. There are many weak links in my set-up chain, if you will, but I think I've narrowed the problem. I'll describe my set-up anyway. I'm running dovecot 1.1.4 on ubuntu

[Dovecot 1.1.3] Strange problem with attachment download
Hello everyone, I am testing Dovecot 1.1.3 at the moment to see if I can migrate from UW-Imap(mbox) to Dovecot(maildir). Because I dont' want to influence the production server I installed Dovecot on an ununsed computer with some dummy-testusers using ssl and maildir. Installation was without any problems and everything works fine with one exception: I cannot download some attachments.

Catch22: user needs space to fix out of space condition
A mail user reported that he filled up his INBOX (despite reminders he was approaching his filesystem quota), and furthermore, he could not fix the situation because he couldn't expunge message he marked for deletion. Multiple userdb possible?

In my dovecot.conf I have: userdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-usrdb-ldap.conf driver = ldap } passdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-passdb-ldap.conf driver = ldap } Is it legitimate to include multiple ldap userdb's, like: userdb { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-usrdb-ldap1.conf driver = ldap } passdb { args =

Problems with the fs-quota plugin on delivery stage
Hi All! Just noticed a strange behavior of the FS quota plugin on delivery stage. We use group FS quotas via NFS. And quota-tool says: --- Disk quotas for group #5751796 (gid 5751796): Filesystem blocks quota limit grace nfse:/export 1276 10240 10240 --- I run: --- cat ./test.eml | /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver -e -n -d xxxx at xxxxx.xxxx --- and get: --- Quota

UID confusion
Hi, 2 or 3 customers have reported that they are having problems downloading their mail via. POP3. I have attached the rawlogs of their transactions and the UID list at the time. Is this because I am using an incompatible UID format or is something else at fault? Deleting the UID list and indexes fixes the problem. I am using Test72.
