1.2.15 can't get zlib working
Following these instructions: http://wiki.dovecot.org/Plugins/Zlib
I enabled zlib and restarted Dovecot. I made a backup copy of a 68MB
mbox file and moved it to a non mail directory. The mbox file is an
existing TBird IMAP folder in my UNIX user mail directory. It is an
archive of a defunct mailing list. It was a regular IMAP folder prior
to attempting this. I was able to access all emails

dovecot-1.2.4, sendmail,deliver,sieve
I'm trying to setup deliver as an LDA for system users. I've read http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail
which handles virtual users. I don't see a README for what I need. I
want sendmail to accept the mail and then hand off to deliver with
sieve plugin. Deliver should look in the users home directory which is
found in /etc/passwd for the sieve-script to see what to do with it.

Config questionsabout various login parms
I'm currently runing UW-IMAP (compiled vanilla) with procmail and mbox
and am making my usual careful crawl (at turtle speed) through figuring
out DC config. Some questions:
a) I have something like 3-4 root imapd sessions so I presume that the
default *login_processes_count* = 3 will be OK. I'm less clear about
login_max_processes_count and login_max_connections = 256. A common

quota_rule beeing ignored and set to system soft! quota
Hi,
originating from the same Problem Edgar Fu? described here [1] about
"Zero-sized Maildir files and index corruption on over-quota" i setup
quota = fs:user quotas with a quota_rule set to 1.5G to prevent getting
those zero sized mail files. What happens now is that when the user is
over system soft quota (1G) mails stop beeing delivered.

Dovecot 1.1.11 failing to accept SSL/TLS connections
Greetings -
We are running Dovecot 1.1.11 on our servers and have been gradually
migrating people off our old (UW-based) systems onto the new (Dovecot-based)
ones. As a result the new systems are seeing more connections from more
people.
We have started seeing problems reported by users of our webmail service
that they are getting an error indicating the webmail software (Prayer) has

auth_default_realm, pam_krb5, gssapi
Hi,
Just writing here my note about auth_default_realm, pam_krb5 and gssapi.
It seems that 'pam' passdb and 'gssapi' auth_mechanism doesn't honor
'auth_default_realm' setting, at least in several setups I deal with.
Here is a part of the config:
passdb {
args = max_requests=100 cache_key=%u%r dovecot
driver = pam
}
auth_default_realm = REALM.COM

problem in rc15 (proxy mode)
Hi,
I have test dovecot on one of my pop3/imap proxies (from rc10 to rc15).
I immediately get a lot of error messages like this one :
Nov 27 15:10:45 mproxy1 dovecot: pop3-login: file client.c: line 423 (client_unref): assertion failed: (client->destroyed)
Nov 27 15:10:45 mproxy1 dovecot: child 21677 (login) killed with signal 6
A lot means one every 2 or 3 seconds.
Any suggestion ?

GSSAPI vs group check
Dear All,
Is it possible to make any authorization (eg. checking of group
membership) in case of GSSAPI authentication?
Our dovecot authenticates the users against PAM and GSSAPI. In the PAM
file I'm able to check if a user is a member of a selected (e.g
mailreader) group. If the user is member, he can login otherwise not
(see below). If the user has a valid Kerberos ticket and he

GSSAPI vs group check
Dear All,
We are having a very similar issue with dovecot 2.2.34 as ?kos. We want
our users to authenticate via GSSAPI over Kerberos using their TGT.
Our setup is two distinct locations with their own dovecot's with access
to these being handled via LDAP auth mechanism with filters to check for
their group memberships, i.e. users from location A are in group A and
users from location B

list command and shared folders
Hello,
I try to setup shared folders with real unix users:
user "test2": setacl t2_t4 test4 lrswi
user "test3": setacl t3_t4 test4 lrswi
Now I see entries in ~test2/Maildir/.t2_t4/dovecot-acl,
~test3/Maildir/.t3_t4/dovecot-acl and /var/lib/dovecot/acl_dict.db (see below)
But "test4" don't see the shared folders in the list command :-(

GSSAPI and deny=yes passdb
Hi. Is it possible to use GSSAPI authentication and deny passdb
together? Seems it doesn't work as I expect: GSSAPI doesn't check deny
passdb, so I'm not able to restrict access to GSSAPI-users.
I can see these in logs when user tries to connect with PLAIN
authentication (via pam_krb5):

file ioloop-iolist.c: line 25 (ioloop_iolist_add): assertion failed: (list->ios[idx] == NULL)
Hi,
I am using dovcot on a Fritz!Box (Linux fritz 2.6.19.2 #1 Fri Apr 18
16:00:34 CEST 2008 mips unknown)
And after upgrading from 1.0.9 to 1.0.15 I am getting above assertion,
when I do some action like moving or deleting on the IMAP mail box using
MailDir on ext2 fs.
I use --with-ioloop=epoll and --with-mem-align=4 as build configuration.
For dovecof configuration see below details.
Thanks
