TE410P hardware problems
TE410P card down. I have three (3) TE410P in one machine running asterisk with SS7. My problems started last week when one of my cards started switching to E1 every time after reboot. I set the following in dahdi.conf and that solve the problem. /etc/modprobe.d/ options wct4xxp t1e1override=0x00 Now all 4 ports on that card is down with Red Alarm. I tried rebooting the machine and

Samba 3.0.7 & adding machines. Wrong primary group.
Hi! Some time ago (samba 3.0.1?) I added machines to my domain with 'srvmrg.exe' and all went as I expect. IIRC. If I am now adding machines, all machine-accounts have the initially group "users" set instead of "machines". But they should't. | add machine script = useradd -d /dev/null -g machines -s /bin/false %u This is, because even if adding machines to the

Diagnosing poor call quality
Greetings list, We have an issue with call quality at 2 sites where the users (4 Elmeg IP290s at one site, 2 SPA942s at the other) do not have an asterisk box on-site. Each site has an 8mb down/448k up ADSL connection and the phones connect via SIP to an asterisk box in a datacentre using g729. The asterisk box in the datacentre connects to our other asterisk boxes providing pstn connectivity

ISDN D-channel disconnects for a minute every 5 minutes
I have a problem with Asterisk-bristuffed using a zaphfc card. I am located in the Netherlands, so I have an ISDN line from KPN. When I start Asterisk, and plug in the ISDN line, everything works perfectly for about 5 minutes. And then the ISDN line is down for 1 minute, and after that minute, the line comes back up and works for another 5 minutes. Every time the line goes down I get the error

Yet more variable scoping pain.
Some days I wonder why I even bother with puppet. --- classes: - datacentre::new_york - role::appserver - elements::tfel0 environment: production: parameters: < set key/value pairs here > class ldap { < do some stuff that behaves slightly differently between different data centers > } class role::appserver { include ldap } So, I wanted to set some variables in the

can I use CentOS as a antivirus / spam filter / HTTP AV gateway?
Hi all I've been thinking about using CentOS on a Dell R200 server and turn it into a firewall / network monitor / traffic shaper in our datacentre, instead of using a dedicated firewall device. One of the devices that I have been looking at, with my limited budget, is the D-Link DFL 860 - http://www.netdefend.eu/Product.aspx?m=15&ref=DFL-860 It provides AV, SPI, VPN, DOS, P2P, etc

Large sites
Hi, I am looking networking together about 1000-2000 sites across the country. I've been looking through these mailing lists. Saw the thread from the person who had 1000+ running on Amazon, and how they essentially stripped all security out of it. Also know that the ChaosVPN uses tinc, for at least 130+ sites although I'm a bit fuzzy on the details for it. Are there any other cases of

server exercising, stressing, and/or testing
greetings would someone please point me to an excellent server exercising, stressing, and/or testing program that will run on centos 4? i want one that will not out and out destroy a machine so to speak... ...meaning testing is one thing, yet pounding a box in the hard drive department over and above the cause or unnecessarily does not appeal to me. fyi the box i want to test/stress this time

Proper way to boot memtest86
Hello list, any try the new memtest86 v3.2 with isolinux 3.11 cd and pxeboot? How is the proper way to chainload memtest86 I was tried: label memtest kernel memtest.bin but, nothing happens just a weird hang (my older versions of memtest hangs too). Anyway chainloading in a floppy image with memdisk on CD or pxeboot was fine but if I use memory to emulate a floppy I was not using this memory

Version 5.01 not passing kernel command line args to memtest86+as it can understand
Hello, I'm trying to pass the serial port options to memtest86+ using Syslinux 5.01 but is not working. Debugging the memtest86+, the check at main.cpp function static void parse_command_line(void) if (*OLD_CL_MAGIC_ADDR != OLD_CL_MAGIC) return; Is being evaluated to true. What should I do? There is a way to instruct memtest to use the "old way" to pass

Problem with pxelinux 5.0 and memtest
Hello, This is my first post to this list. After searching through the archives and google searches I could not find a solution for my memtest problem. In previous versions of pxelinux/gpxelinux (4.04 and 4.06) I could successfully start the memtest utility. But using pxelinux/gpxelinux versions 5.01 and 5.02 the memtest utility does not boot and I get an error message: boot: Loading

"keeppxe" broken in 3.74 - short-cycle 3.75
It appears that the 3.74 completely broke the "keeppxe" directive -- not due to the command-line parser, but due to mishandling of the flag later. I consider this to be severe enough to do a short-cycle 3.75. As a result, I would like help with: a) are there any other bugs that snuck through? b) once I have a 3.75-pre1, I would really appreciate help testing it. The goal is to have

memtest86 problem
Hi! At first thanks for your great work! I started to make multiboot CDs 1,5 years ago, with Bart Lagerweij 's utils. I have a problem with the memtest86 floppy image, made by the authors in the .zip file, downloadable from it's homepage, when I use diskemu. Some days ago I found on Bart's page a new method to select boot images on CD with syslinux/isolinux/memdisk. I thought this is
