Public (Shared Folders) ACL Questions
I'm trying to set up a public namespace so that a set of IMAP folders are available to all staff - similar to MS Exchange Public Folders. I've managed to set up the namespace correctly but I'm having trouble with the ACLs. The global ACL file is the only method I can get to work. All I want to do is to allow 1 user admin privileges to create & delete anything but all other users

Public mailboxes with ACL in 1.2
Hi, I'm new to Dovecot 1.2 and I'd like to replace uw-imap. I'd like to have the following setup: - Personal mailboxes using maildir for all users (no problem) - Public mailboxes for certain people who are in special groups from /etc/group localed in /var/spool/public as a maildir with subfolders for each group (which should only be visible for that group and also secured by

Plan: ACL changes
Global ACLs are intended to apply to a few mailboxes for all users. For example you could have a master user called "spam" that would have access to each user's "spam" mailbox, but nothing else. Global ACLs are kind of ugly. A mailbox's ACL is found from exactly the same name as what the mailbox's virtual name is. So for example if you have namespace { separator

Managing public folder ACL files
We have a customer with a large public folder hierarchy. They occasionally make requests to have the public folder ACLs changed; for example: "please give user X access to all public folders" (that's nearly 1700 folders). Worse: "please give user Y access to all sales folders" (there are 1450 sales folders). The problem is that there are (naturally) spaces in the folder

Public namespaces with global ACLs 1.2+
Hi, I'm having trouble to get ACLs working in a more restrictive way with namespaces. I would like to grant certain users the ability to create new mailboxes in a public namespace e.g. "Public/Newsletters" etc. It works when I add the users to a ".DEFAULT" ACL file like this: user=username lrwk Anyway I'd like to limit their permissions on the Namespace

Syslinux 4.10-pre20
I think I finally have nailed down the problems with TFTP on the 4.10 branch, and so I have released 4.10-pre20. Please let me know if you have hardware on which 4.05/4.06-pre3 works, and 4.10-pre20 does not. -hpa -- H. Peter Anvin, Intel Open Source Technology Center I work for Intel. Public Namespace & ACL & Virtual Users
Background: I am wanting to create shared folders (public namespace) with access control lists on the sub directories. Our implementation of dovecot (v1.0b7) uses many virtual users and domains and 1 actual user (vmail), all using maildir. So far I have successfully created the public namespace (Public_Folders) which every user can access but I'm having difficulty restricting access using
