NFS versus ISCSI
Hello ! I was wondering if anyone has done any kind of benchmarks regarding having a NFS export or using ISCSI. If not, is there any idea in how to do those benchmarks. In my case I will us NFS or ISCSI to export some space to run a mysql server, oracle 10g and ordinary file share. At this point I have 3 iscsi "servers" and 3 isci clients, each one running one service. All the

Possible to run iscsi-target and initiator on same server?
I am trying to install Oracle RAC in a two node cluster for testing purposes, so performance is not something that concerns me. I just want to go through the process all the way to creating a database. I have all the prerequisites except the shared storage and thought I'd give this a try. I'm running: - CentOS 5.3 kernel 2.6.18-164.el5 - iscsitarget-1.4.18-1 -

What iSCSI is used in Centos 5 and RHEL6?
I was looking up on iSCSI in preparation and became aware that there are different iSCSI software/drivers/whatever-is-the-correct-term available. e.g. IET http://iscsitarget.sourceforge.net/ SCST http://scst.sourceforge.net/ STGT http://stgt.berlios.de/ LIO http://linux-iscsi.org/ Based on what I can see, it seems to be STGT because the site provides a link to Redhat advisory which seems to

iSCSI target in CentOS 4?
Hi List, I've started looking into iSCSI, and I'm wondering if there is an iSCSI target (I've found the initiator in iscsi-initiator-utils) that ships with CentOS, or if not, what the recommended target would be. I'd like to export either a partition or (preferably) a file-as-a-partition. Yours, -S -- Simen Thoresen, Wulfkit Support, Dolphin ICS

For iSCSI, have a look at iscsi-init at sourceforge. http://iscsi-init.sourceforge.net. Load it as a module in an initrd and it uses some kernel parameters and automatically configures the network and then

iscsi target for C5.x
Does anyone have any recommendations for the best way to bring up a iSCSI Target on a C5.3+ server ? Various blogs suggest compiling IET from source, but thats not real appealing to me (not that I can't do it, I just don't want to have to support it long term). I looked in rpmforge but didn't see anything.

Cannot load wcfxo -- Please help!
I'm afraid that I am at a loss here. I am new to Asterisk, and have successfully set up SIP. But I cannot get my FXS card working, and I'm not sure what else I can try. # modprobe wcfxo /lib/modules/2.4.21-37.0.1.ELsmp/misc/wcfxo.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. Sun JVM 1.5 and CentOS latest kernel - regress?
I've been running a lot of apps with Sun's 1.5.0_03 JVM on CentOS 3.6. After the latest kernel update 2.4.21-37.0.1.ELsmp is seems I'm starting to get hangs. Just like I used to a year ago on an earlier kernel release. It looks like the infamous futex bug: strace -p 22406 Process 22406 attached - interrupt to quit futex(0x821be34, FUTEX_WAIT, 15, NULL <unfinished ...> Anyone

Using Solaris iSCSI target in VirtualBox iSCSI Initiator
Hello, I?m using ZFS to export some iscsi targets for the virtual box iscsi initiator. It works ok if I try to install the guest OS manually. However, I?d like to be able to import my already prepared guest os vdi images into the iscsi devices but I can?t figure out how to do it. Each time I tried, I cannot boot. It only works if I save the manually installed guest os and re-instate the same

zfs + iscsi target + vmware esx server
I''m posting here as this seems to be a zfs issue. We also have an open ticket with Sun support and I''ve heard another large sun customer also is reporting this as an issue. Basic Problem: Create a zfs file system and set shareiscsi to on. On a vmware esx server discover that iscsi target. It shows up as 249 luns. When attempting to then add the storage esx server eventually

Bug#717573: XCP: Cannot connect to iSCSI target
Package: xcp-storage-managers Version: 0.1.1-3 Severity: normal XCP cannot use iscsi block devices. Fails with iscsiadm: No active sessions. I ran the following commands trying to diagnose the problem: First introducing a SR and then creating a PBD with the needed configuration for the iscsi block device. These steps work fine but when I tried to plug the PBD I got the error: root at
