Firewire drive support in CentOS 3.3?
I just recently downloaded and installed the CentOS 3.3 release, and I'm having a bit of a problem... It appears that no support for firewire drives has been included. I am unable to find the ohci1394 or sbp2 modules anywhere. Are there other packages which must be installed from the distribution to get firewire devices to be recognized? Thanks. --Steve

Infiniba(n)d and Firewire (1394)
I'm currently looking at how to deal with the lack of usable MACs in Infiniba(n)d and Firewire. Instead of presenting the MAC address when querying for the config file, these guys need either the Client Identifier, or the PC UUID. The Client Identifier is a fairly opaque object which tends to include various fixed portions; the PC UUID is far to often not at all or incorrectly programmed.

FireWire in CentOS 5.3
I am being given a digital camcorder. It uses Mini DV tapes and either connects via typical RCA cables (IE to a tv) or via FireWire. I don't have the brand on hand, but I was told it can be ripped to DV like any standard FireWire camcorder (I believe dvgrab will be sufficient). I just installed an older FireWire card I have that I used at one point in Fedora for my iPod. It was a PITA

CentOS 4.4 lvm and drbd 0.8?
I'm running CentOS 4.4 and drbd 0.7 with ext3 filesystems on the drbd device. I'm very interested in moving to drbd 0.8 and pulling my all of my drbd devices into one lvm for greater flexibility in filesystems. I've seen some notes on doing this but wonder if anyone on this list has a cookbook for doing this. Also noted that on the drbd site the only packages they have are set

Hi All, we've run into a problem with the xfs component in the centosplus kernel (2.6.9-34.106.unsupportedsmp) where synchronous writes sometimes fail with EAGAIN. It's causing headaches for DB2 installs and for our database research group. There is a fix reported at: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-xfs&m=110808122904352&w=2 ...that's supposed to take care of

OCFS package for Oracle firewire kernel?
I'm trying to track down a binary ocfs package for the 2.4.21-9.0.1.ELorafw1smp kernel (the firewire kernel for RedHat EL 3 from Oracle). Alternatively I'll just build the module from the source rpm but I'm getting the following when I try to build the module (either from the src rpm or the tar.gz src file), "invalid suffix on integer constant" and "syntax error before
