Hi all,
This is my first message to the list.
I've been experimenting with running dovecot on my unRAID server
(basically, a parity-protected array of disks, running on a slackware
13.1 platform).
Someone on the unRAID forum had built a binary distribution of dovecot
1.1.20 and I got this up and running without too much trouble.
Today, I've been building the latest dovecot release

Removal of mailist duplicates?
I am using mpop to fetch mail from my service provider (who use dovecot).
I use dovecot to hold all my mail on a local slackware server, with
sieve filters, based on 'List-Id', directing mailist postings to their
own folders.
I use thunderbird to read my mail on an ubuntu desktop.
When I receive a reply to a posting I make to a mailist (such as this
one), replies I receive are

Building Pigeonhole
I'm attempting to build Pigeonhole 0.2.3 for use with my Dovecot 2.0.12
installation on Slackware.
I've downloaded the sources and unzipped into a folder which sits
alongside the folder in which I built Dovecot.
When I ./configure, the configuration appears to complete without error.
However, when I make, the compiler throws lots of errors all stemming,
I believe from its failure

Thunderbird not able to edit sieve Message Filters
I'm not sure when this problem first occurred - it is many months since
I last editted a sieve filter. I am certainly several versions of
Thunderbird and, probably, a few versions of Dovecot on from when I last
editted a sieve filter. However, I do know that I have done so in the past.
I have just built Dovecot 2.2.13 and Pigeonhole 0.4.3, installed and
running on Slackware 14.1 x64.

Re: Attaching DVD-writer
I’ve tried that post .. but either I get a new scsi passthrough controller in device manager, but no dvd or the boot in windows hangs
Either that method won’t work anymore or my config is bad .. im not really sure what to put in controller, target, bus and unit ..

Note that you don't have to add a scsi <controller> if you already have
one. You can add the drive to the existing one.

Yes, they were just comments, but unraid should really fix their Samba
setup.

GlusterFS slowness due to updatedb cron job
We have seen at a number of deployments, users experiencing slowness of
GlusterFS over a period of time (as the volume usage grows). Some times it
happens once in a day. This is due to updatedb cron job script that wakes up
once in a day to index all the files it can find. It is configured by default
to ignore network file systems such as NFS and lustre. Please add fuse.glusterfs
to the list.
