I havea configuration on dovecot that allows me to provide imap4/pop3 messages for local hosted users as well as for proxied users on other servers. Basically, i have a simple MySQL table (imapproxy) with two fields, 'domain' and 'host'. My password_query isa 'UNION' query, exactly like:

Unexpected accounts showing up in replication status (doveadm replicator status '*')
I have a replication set up with two dovecot 2.3.4 servers. Messages appear to be replicating fine between them, however there is an oddity when I run doveadm replicator status '*' and I'm worried work is being carried out needlessly. Both machines have identical configs and have a mysql backend for username/passwords.? Both machines point to the same mysql server and same

Dovecot LDA / Deliver question
Problem described: I am trying to get Postfix + Dovecot + MySQL setup to work together in a virtual mail hosting platform. I am running Postfix 2.3.x, and MySQL 5.0.x. I am trying to use Dovecot's LDA for delivery to the users vmail home directory -- usually under /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe for home and /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe/.maildir for mail location, using MAILDIR format.

I can't get it to work unless I chmod 777 everything, which obiously is not what I want. 1) am I correct thinking that

Password auth with Postfixadmin & MySQL
I am trying to get Postfix, Dovecot, Postfixadmin, and MySQP all working together. I'm using 1.0.5 atm. I've hit a point where I can't seem top get dovecot to auth to the MySQL password database It seems to see the user OK, but I can't seem to get a password match. MySQL has password stored as MD5, as per Postfixadmin. When I add plain-md5 to the auth mechanisms dovecot
