Warning: SSL is disabled because global ssl=no, ignoring ssl=yes for subsection
Hi all,
This is my first message to the list.
I've been experimenting with running dovecot on my unRAID server
(basically, a parity-protected array of disks, running on a slackware
13.1 platform).
Someone on the unRAID forum had built a binary distribution of dovecot
1.1.20 and I got this up and running without too much trouble.
Today, I've been building the latest dovecot release

Dovecot top stats
Hi,
I have being try to track down top email users to sometime. When I do a
network traffic check I can see there is about 15 times more email traffic
pulled from mail server than sent.
The problem I am trying to track down is which users are the culprit.
I have enabled doevcot stats and I can do a doveadm stats dump user but I
get a 0 for disk_input, disk_output, read_bytes and write_bytes. I

Version Mismatch
hi list
I upgraded to 1.1.3, and have my logs turned off for some time, but
turned it back on when someone complained about moving emails. I saw
this in the logs. Seems strange. Using gentoo on AMD 64 bit. All is
working fine, but is this a cause for alarm.

Running without anvil?
Hi,
I'm using dovecot as a local mail store on my laptop using preauth
tunneling. It turns out I almost don't even need to start dovecot at
all; the only reason it needs to be running is so that FTS indexing can
be invoked. And because I don't want it to run any services, I can run
it as an unprivileged user, so long as I turn them all off:

Asterisk 12 trunk setup
Hi All
I am testing Asterisk 12 and got most things working, but cannot get a
trunk setup working. I am using the new pjsip channel driver. The
provider provides IP security so no registering or credentials are
required.
This is version 1.8 that works

host=1.2.3.4

and use Dial(SIP/maintrunk/${ARG1})

although it blacklisted and blocked rules

"starting" dovecot
My system never issues the "dovecot start" command. I do, however, run
/usr/local/libexec/dovecot/imap on port 9xxx. I talk to the server
through port 9xxx and through the preauth tunnel. Is this arrangement
OK? Are there some things that will only work if "dovecot" is invoked?
Thanks,

Error: file_dotlock_create failed: Permission denied
Hi,
I have a Fedora 14 x86_64 computer. I run dovecot 2.0.12 on it, only to
keep a local imap copy of all my email, in maildir format. A couple days
ago the hard disk broke, so I bought a new one, and reinstalled Fedora 14
x86_64 with all the updates.
Then I copied all the maildirs from a backup to the new drive.
But I can't access email now. No matter how I change sticky bits or
ownership

Error messages in log
Hi,
I would like to eliminate some of the error messages which appear in my
dovecot logfile.
I already understand that the message:
doveconf: Warning: SSL is disabled because global ssl=no, ignoring
ssl=yes for subsection
is fixed in the current development code.
However, I also get a lot of:
lda(peter): Error: User peter doesn't have home dir set, disabling

an unsophisticated question about recoding in a data frame with control structure if {}
Hello all,
I apologize for a terribly simple question. I'm used to using Stata and am trying to `switch' over to R.
I would like to recode a vector in a data frame when the value of it meets the following condition: if (dataframe$factor=='3'){dataframe$thevector<-(an arithmetic mean). What I would like to result is the creation of a new variable within the data frame for

in Rd documentation, line breaks in code blocks?
Hi everyone,
following the gentle advice from this list, I write a package
description Rd file.
I have a section in there. In this section, I have a subsection. In
this subsection, I want to have a code fragment. This code fragment
should include several commands, spanning several lines.
Example:
==========
\name{aqr-package}
\alias{aqr-package}
\alias{aqr}
\docType{package}
