Error: Mailbox INBOX: file_dotlock_create in directory /var/mail failed: Permission denied
Hi All,
We are running Round cube on top of dovecot and postfix as our email
echo system. Main problem we are facing is that, roundcube loads really
slow for big inboxes (~5000 emails). I found that, while it loads, imap
process goes high in terms of CPU utilization(~90%). I asked it in some
roundcube support group, They believe that it is related to dovecot not
roundcube. Can you shed any

Found bug on doing IMAP search with UTF8 chars
Hi!
I'm using Roundcube 0.9git as mail frontend and have installed Dovecot 2.1.7 on Debian Squeeze. When searching for mail via Roundcube and the keyword contains "special" chars (like german umlauts), then Dovecot seems to die when the folder does not contain a message which contains this keyword, i.e.
folder contains message /w subject "Dies ist eine Nachricht" =>

syncing imap servers with imapsync
hello list,
I am attempting to sync two imap servers using the imapsync perl script. It seems handy and easy.
Here's what happens when I try to do this:
#
# Postfix master process configuration file. For details on the format
# of the file, see the master(5) manual page (command: "man 5 master").
# -o smtpd_sasl_auth_enable=yes

Mail has quit working
Hello,
Mail has come to an abrupt stop. Running C7, postfix and dovecot. Using
Roundcube as the client.
Mail stopped working Saturday and I cannot figure was has happened. I have
not touched this server except to upgrade packages. I believe Roundcube was
updated maybe a week ago but know I was getting mail since then.
Crond is no longer send mail. I checked /var/spool/mail as well as /Maildir

Possible mbox corruption if mail is saved with wrong Content-Length header (2.1.6)
One of our users likes to delete attachments from his mails. He is using
roundcube and we installed a plugin for that.
He reports that from time to time one of his mails gets corrupted (cut
off in the middle).
I could verify there is something wrong in the logs:
imap(x1234567): Error: Cached message size larger than expected (6796 > 2844)
imap(x1234567): Error: Corrupted index cache file

disabling outgoing mail ?
We're using roundcube as a method of access to a read-only email archive
served via imap/dovecot. I was thinking of disabling outgoing mails by
fiddling with the roundcube code, but thought it might be possible to
disable the outgoing functionality from dovecot?

So, again, what do the dovecot logs say?
How is roundcube setup? Specifically what is the IMAP server set to?
Remember, if you have changed the server definition in the config, the

OK. There are a couple of things:
Aug 23 21:47:18 ts130 postfix/smtpd[3750]: warning: hostname localhost does not resolve to address 127.0.0.1
Aug 23 21:47:18 ts130 postfix/smtpd[3750]: connect from unknown[127.0.0.1]
That needs to be fixed. What does the entry for 127.0.0.1

Disable IMAP for ONE user only
I use MySQL to store my virtual users passwords and I am running the
latest version of Dovecot.
What I need to do is have one particular user have ONLY access to their
email via Roundcube (webmail) and no IMAP/SMTP access.
Therefore, how do I disable IMAP/SMTP access for just one user?

Dovecot + roundcube -- Password Change
Hello,
I'm using Postfix + Dovecot (2.2.6) + roundcube 0.8.x + mysql.
The roundcube webserver is hosted on a different server than the
Dovecot. The dovecot itself is a replicated 2 node configuration.
I would like to allow users to change the password from roundcube
interface. All the examples I have seen, assume that roundcube runs in
the same server as dovecot.
Is there an example /

Auto forward virtual users mail using Sieve
Hi All
I'm trying to configure Dovecot to automatically forward mail to
another account without the virtual user having to log-in first to
Roundcube web mail. These are virtual users with no log-in to the
server only Roundcube's web interface The situation is that I have two
domains only who want to receive email at their domains, get a
forwarded copy at their hotmail account,
