Can't connect to auth server
I'm trying to phase out procmail and move to dovecot-sieve instead. It ain't proving easy. I'll describe my setup: - Centos 5.2 box with dovecot 1.1.4 and dovecot-sieve 1.1.6 from ATrpms. - A single user account is used to store all our email (the account is called maildb). - Getmail is being used to fetch the email from various ISP mailboxes. I want to deliver mail to different

mbox to maildir conversion on a user-by-user basis!
In the midst of evaluating Dovecot for use in solving some mbox locking issues (while also waiting for our eventual migration to maildir), I had an epiphany. It looks like Dovecot's auto-detection of mail formats would allow us to migrate from mbox to maildir on a user-by-user basis! I was thinking: 1. Let dovecot autodetect mail storage 2. Use some procmail trickery to detect which format

Maildir
I've spent most of the morning looking through the archives. Great information, however, I'm still unable to get my issues figured out. I believe I am missing something quite simple. From what I have read, I want to use maildir, mainly because it will allow the use of subfolders for my clients. My clients are running Mail.app (mostly) on 10.3 clients. I'm planning on using imap

mbox to Maildir conversion
I've been running a mbox solution using UW's IMAP server. I've run it for years. Now do to heavy message volumes, I've decided to to take the plunge to convert to the Maildir format. I am currently testing a single user, and have successfully converted the mail messages from mbox to Maildir format, and now I am setting up the procmail tool to place the messages into the correct

Duplicate E-mail Problem
Hello all, Definitely congrats on the 1.0.0 release! Anyway, I'm having a problem, that may or may not be related to Dovecot. Specifically, duplicate (and sometimes triplicate) emails are appearing. These emails have exactly the same queue ID, so its not that they were sent multiple times. These dup emails do not show up to me ever. Postfix is being used as the SMTP, and it hands it

Imap daemons for CentOS 6 (other then cyrus-imapd)
Are there any imap daemons (besides cyrus-imapd). cyrus-imapd is appearently not compatible with postfix + procmail. I need an imap daemon that will work with a postfix + procmail system. -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Linux Administration Services heller at deepsoft.com -- Webhosting

Maybe someone can tell me something useful. Now, I've confirmed the following: I received a mail message that was not spam, of size 2132 originally. clamav scanned it and bumped the size up to 2356

DoveCot IMAP and "inconsistent state" messages
I need some help troubleshooting this problem. It only shows up with IMAP connections. I initially thought it was related to SquirrelMail (because it gives me an 'EXPUNGE' error), but after attempting to send IMAP commands directly to the server as shown below, I'm thinking there is something else going on. The system configuration is PostFix as the MTA delivering to procmail in

Corrupted index file
I've recently switched from Courier-imap to dovecot and I'm impressed with it's speed and reliability. However, my index file gets regularly corrupted: Feb 8 21:23:16 hive imap(hart): Corrupted index file /home/hart/Maildir/.INBOX/.imap.index: index.next_uid (129) > uid_rec.uid (128) dovecot version: 0.99.13-3 Debian sid) I use dovecot in combination with mutt, procmail and

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Hi Ajey, I thought I already was doing bridge mode. Below are the network interface definitions from the XML config file for the Sophos VM. (Note that it's actually the middle definition which is connected to the cable modem which is different to how I showed it in the earlier diagram). What I don't understand is that the interface type says "direct" in the XML even though in

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Hi, I'm not sure what sort of diagram you mean, but I'll have a try. Does this help? It sounds like I need to do something to enable routing on what I've labelled "NIC3" on the diagram - can you please explain what I need to do? Help sought for email problem
My home server is running CentOS-7.1 I'm running postfix and dovecot on it. I collect email from a few sources with fetchmail and move it to ~/Maildir/cur/ with procmail. Or at least, I did do this. For some reason procmail has stopped doing its job, and the email that I collect is finishing in /var/spool/mail/tim/ I can't work out what has caused this, or what the cure is. I haven't

Adding mail to dovecot directories
I run mailagent (which is similar to procmail) to filter all my incoming messages. I would like mailagent to put these messages directly into my dovecot server. What I'm doing right now is to create files (one per message) in the "~/mail/.folder-name/new" directory, or in the case of INBOX, in the "~/.mail/new" directory. I have ~/.mail as my maildir. The files created

Sieve vacation not working
I've been trying all night to get vacation working in my .dovecot.sieve file. The way our email works is we have one account on dovecot which serves my mail and my wife's and we use procmail and sieve to put the emails in different folders depending on who it's for. I'm trying to set up a vacation reply on my wife's email address (aaaaaaaa at optus* below) so people can update

Setting up webmail in DMZ
I have a Smoothwall server on my network and am running three network interfaces off it. 1) local LAN 192.168.0.0 with PCs and an internal dovecot server on 192.168.0.154. 2) internet interface 3) DMZ 192.168.2.0 which has a linux web server 192.168.2.1 on which I want to install a webmail so I can access my email remotely. Can't get NTLM authentication working with Samba
I've been running Samba for years to provide file shares, and now I'm trying to set it up as an NTLM authentication server for Squid. From what I've read, to do this you need to get winbindd up and running. I think I'm part way there but have hit a brick wall. I've set my machine us a PDC. "wbinfo -u" returns a list of users OK (though I notice one is missing but
