Samba4 with python2.7 and python3
Hi all, Arch Linux (a rolling release distro) has updated to python3 a while back. python2 is still installed in parallel, but part of the ramifications of this move is the following:-0 1. /usr/bin/python points to /usr/bin/python3 instead of /usr/bin/python2 2. /usr/bin/python-config points to /usr/bin/python3-config instead of /usr/bin/python2-config I'm having problems with make for

passwd-file - lower limit for username?
Hi, previously I could use the following in my passwd-file:- AB:{plain}password I'm not sure when it stopped working, its not an account I access with any regularity, but today it would not work (2.1.0, 64-bit Arch Linux), with an 'unknown user' error in the logs. Is there some new lower limit for username length?

/etc/gai.conf fails to prefer IPv4 over IPv6 for NFS
Using CentOS 6.9 with IPv4 configured, and _not_ disabling IPv6 yet, we want this NFS client system to prefer the IPv4 address of a dual-stack remote NFS server, which has both A and AAAA records in DNS. Otherwise we get a minutes long pause while automounter tries to mount the IPv6 address -- I can see automounter's '/bin/mount' running, using the AAAA record of the server, until

Maildir from offlineimap, INBOX folder created
Hi, I'm using dovecot to serve up a Maildir created/served by offlineimap. The layout is typical (as far as I know) of maildirs, with the root folder having cur, tmp, new, and subfolders being a folder within the root folder. Since I'd previously used Evolution to access this maildir, my subfolders were actual subfolders (separator /). Anyway, it all works spiffingly well, except that I

[PATCH] include parameters can handle globbing
Hey guys, This patch will allow you to include different configuration files in the main dovecot.conf by using globbing [1] (like Apache for instance). !include = conf.d/*.conf !include_try = /etc/dovecot/extra* So with this you can split the dovecot.conf in different smaller configuration files. It's more the debian way to do that. But it's very handy if you have to generate

For example, if I uncomment the block of "precedence" lines, and swap between "10" and "100" for the last line, then "telnet www.google.com 80"

imap client library.
Dear Dovecot developers, I have several question about imap client: - Is there any difference if we want to create imap client that connect to Imap server with user mail format Mailbox or Maildir? Dovecot support both of them, are we need to create different imap client to support both of them? - Does anyone have imap client library other than UW's c-client? thanks for your
