what to expect from changing index location
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello everybody, I have one thousand virtual users with mdbox mailbox format and 10 GByte quota. I have noticed some performance problem related to I/O (the mailbox disk is a 6TB raid1+0 on ISCSI), so I want to put the index files on a different disk. My actual mail_location is: mail_location = mdbox:/var/vmail/%-1.1u/%u/mdbox and I want to switch

the right way to delete mailbox/user home
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear list, we are using dovecot with mdbox to provide mail services for a community of 1000 academic users. We have quite a big turnover of guest users, so we often have to deprovision the allocated resources, that is the mailboxes. Given that the users are virtual, and that the mdbox directory is located in the home directory of each virtual user

solaris 10 dovecot-1.0.rc29 - building issue

Generalized Error Distribution (Exponential Power) CDF?

link to an alias in another package
In some documentation for a package I am working on I have > \code{\link[stats]{varimax}} > \code{\link[stats]{promax}} The link to varimax works, but not the one to promax. Promax is an alias under \name{varimax}. This kind of link works within a package, but I'm not sure if it is suppose to work when it is a link to another package. Is this a known limitation or bug, or

lm.fit algo
Hi, everyone, This is a little silly, but I cant figure out the algorithm behind lm.fit function used in the context of promax rotation algorithm: The promax function is: promax <- function(x, m = 4) { if(ncol(x) < 2) return(x) dn <- dimnames(x) xx <- varimax(x) x <- xx$loadings Q <- x * abs(x)^(m-1) U <- lm.fit(x, Q)$coefficients d <-

restarting a server
A question, althought it is not strictly samba pertinent: I have some Win2k server that offers dial-in to local users. Today all stopped working, but the ones using linux ... However these are not sufficient, so i ask here [since it is probable many people have win2k hosts around) - how to , logging in the win2k server with ssh, restart RAS ? Of couse i can use only CLI programs ... at woest ...

factor analysis and pattern matrix
Hi, In a discussion of factor analysis in "Using Multivariate Statistics" by Tabachnick and Fidell, two matrices are singled out as important for interpreting an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with an oblique promax rotation. One is the "structure matrix". The structure matrix contains the correlations between variables and factors. However, these correlations may be

Factanal loadings as large as 1.2 with promax -- how unusual?
I am performing a large (105 variable) factor analysis with factanal, specifying promax rotation. I kow that some loadings over 1.0 are not unsual with that rotation, but I have some as large as 1.2, which seems extreme. I am skirting the assumptions of the model by using responses on a 7-point rating scale as data; I may have to go back and compute polychoric correlations instead of product

factor analysis - discrepancy in results from R vs. Stata
Hi, I found a discrepancy between results in R and Stata for a factor analysis with a promax rotation. Factor Analysis with orthogonal and oblique rotation
Hello I seem to find only two types of rotation for the factanal function in R, the Varimax and Promax, but is it possible to run a orthogonal and oblique rotations in R? Thanks in advance Rosario

Planning of next challenges for Firefox
Fellow open video enthusiasts, Chris Blizzard just suggested that with all the Xiph developers attending the OpenVideoConference, we should all get together and discuss the next things to attack for Ogg Theora/Vorbis in Firefox. I think that's a great idea. Assuming that everyone stays for the hackfest on Sunday, we picked 10am on Sunday for a thorough discussion and planning session (1-2

R-CPCA
Dear Ben Bolker, searching for a R code able to do the CPCA I found a message by you on https://stat.ethz.ch/. In that message you said you have something I am looking for. Would you share with me? I ma stuck with a commercial software (GOLPE) that is not developed anymore, therefore I'd like to try to use R for the calculations I need. Looking forware for a reply from you Rino --

Backing up NT4 shares - migration from NT4 to Samba
Hi all, I'm trying to mygrate my NT4 PDC to a Samba v3rc2 PDC. Everything worked well during accounts migration (vampire). I'm now trying to back-up the shares (homes, profiles, netlogon), in order to fully migrate the accounts. Unfortunately, I'm facing a stupid problem : each home directory (or profile directory) can only be read from its creator, NOT from the Administrator of the

Migrating existing debian system to KVM/libvirt
I have a dying machine running debian etch that acts as a web/mail server that I would like to virtualize using debian/kvm/libvirt. Is it as simple as removing the hard-disk (multiple ext2/ext3 partitions) from the dying machine into my newer server and then writing a custom xml config file? Is there a tutorial on doing this somewhere? Thanks. Randy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML
