POP3 vs. IMAP Load/Memory usage in Dovecot 1.0.15
Hi all, We've just provisioned a new cluster of dovecot nodes running Centos and Dovecot 1.0.15 (we needed to match the original configuration, we're upgrading to 1.2 next week!). The nodes are currently equally allocated (50/50 split) to IMAP and POP3, with the intention to move them into a single cluster hosting both services in the next month. All the servers are of identical

Dovecot 2.0b3 IDLE not advertised
Hi, I'm not sure whether the client or the server is at fault (probably the client), but it's clearly a regression for me. I'm using the LCG Profimail (http://lonelycatgames.com/?app=profimail) application for my Symbian smartphone which has quite decent IMAP capabilities. Amongst others it can do IMAP IDLE (which has to be statically enabled in the server settings, so it's not

Theora player for Nokia Series 60
I've made a start writing a Theora player for Series 60 phones (mostly Nokia phones, but some Samsung and Sony Ericsson ones too). Download here: http://symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net/OgvPlay/OgvPlay_010.zip I've been using Big Buck Bunny, Elephants Dream and a few other ogv files for testing. I've uploaded 320x180 versions of those here:

Symbian/S60 encoding failures when building -O2/-O1 optimization and FIXED_POINT
Hello - We are building Speex 1.2rc1 on Symbian/S60 using the GNU csl-arm-2005Q1C tool chain provided in the S60 SDK. We build with the supplied config.h and define FIXED_POINT to 1. We found that the encoded audio is "garbled" when we build with GCC -O1 or -O2 optimization level with fixed point enabled. But if fixed point is enabled and no GCC optimization level is specified,

Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones
Is speex at this stage a good codec to use for real-time voice transmission over a direct CSD connection between two phones? Does anyone have any experience with using Speex on Nokia phones? If speex is not a good solution for this task, what would you recommend? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Squid/ntlm_auth issues with two user accounts (all other accounts on the domain work).
Hi all, I have just installed and configured a squid setup authenticating against Active Directory using kerberos tickets and have achieved the holy-grail of IT - Single Sign On! The problem is that I have two users for whom is does not work. The ntlm_auth logs show that for users that are properly authenticated against squid we get the following (Usernames/Domains/Hosts have been changed for

Potential new puppet user: two questions
Hello, I am examining whether puppet meets our needs. I can''t find the answer to two questions I am looking to answer, hopefully someone can help. 1. Can puppet be used to manage different classes of the same computers, e.g. do something on the apache test farm, if it works then do it on the apache live farm; and is this done cleanly? 2. How are package updates (e.g. yum update/yum

Speex on Nokia Symbian S60 phones
Quoting "Fabio Pietrosanti (naif)" <lists at infosecurity.ch>: > Speex it's too cpu expensive for general S60 usage, it would require a > lot of ASM optimization. Did a quick search and saw ARM CPUs with speeds above 100 MHz. That should actually be enough for Speex, at least for narrowband. > If you are using CSD, like for a secure telephony solution >

Accessing Facter in other languages than Ruby?
Hi all, We''re writing a few scripts at the moment that could really make use of Facter, however the vast majority of them team (including my self!) are not proficient in Ruby, however they are highly proficient in other languages such as (dare I say it!) Python. Is there (or are there any plans to!) release bindings for other languages to enable facts to be used in scripts other

feature request: gzip support in syslinux itself
HPA, is it possible to add GZ support in syslinux itself? Some standalone software compresses very well, but is not compressed. Example is the Memtest86+ binary (90KB uncompressed --> 35KB gzip'd) and maybe Smart Boot Manager (gzip'd COM32 binary instead of normal COM32 binary?). I'm using both on a simple bootdisk, and all space savings are welcome. a workaround could ofcourse

Speex realtime encoding/decoding "Real world" usage for Windows Mobile / Symbian device
hi all, I can claim that our hotfoon service has run millions of mobile voip minutes using speex on mobile and desktops. it works! earlier you needed more powerful cpus (until the integer port), however now the cpus are much faster and the code complexity is much lower. my only regret is of not being able to write some demo apps for speex on win mob. I will surely deliver it in june to settle this

[PATCH]: Cygwin port of 2.2.0p1
Attached is the patch for the Cygwin port of 2.2.0p1. As usual I didn't attach the patch to `configure' but only the patch to `configure.in'. BTW: I have attached a gzip'd version of the patch since it's size is > 20K and I thought that it might be too big. The gzip'd diff is < 8K. [PATCH] Compressed output files
Attached is a patch that implements compressing output files as they're written to disk, uzing zlib. Thus far I've only used it with synchronizing directories on a single machine. What seems to work / what's done: - Synchronizing directories with all files in the target directory gzip'd. Files seem to contain the correct data. Use the option "--gzip-dest". -

It would be very nice to know about some good success without too much cpu issues on Nokia devices, i tried pjsip.org project on S60 FP1 E65 +200mhz ARM cpu with speex but don't had much luck in using it without having 100% cpu usage :( Please let us to know about your testing E65 CPU: http://www.nokia-tuning.net/index.php?s=processor Fabio Pietrosanti Jordan Dimov wrote: > Thank

alpha4 and zlib-plugin?
Hi, I saw the zlib-plugin reference in the alpha4 ChangeLog notes are searched the list for info about it. The only reference I found was from Timo back in March 2005. Questions: 1) Is this going to become a standard part of version 1.0? 2) Any plans or ability to make it read/write to a gzipped mailbox, or is this possible? Or will it always be read-only? 3) How does a mailbox get gzipped?
