Problems with dovecot 2.0, sieve and mdbox
Hi guys,
I tried to use a global sieve skript to sort spam mails into
a subfolder of INBOX. I?m using mdbox.
The log shows that the script is called and executed but it is
not able to find or create the mailbox:

dovecot disk space settings
Ok, what about placing a dummy file of 5GB or so on the partition, that
you can remove when necessary?

I recently wrote a script to check disk space every week and email me an alert if there was less than 5G. Would that be an approach for you? Enclosing below as an example. You'd need to adapt to your own environment.

Sub-Sub-Subfolders not shown after converting from maildir to mdbox
Hi again,
I just recognized a problem concerning subfolders after converting from
maildir to mdbox. Thunderbird and SeaMonkey don?t show folders that are
subfolders of subfolders.
Have a look at the filesystem:
discovery:/var/mail/domain.tld/patrick/mdbox/mailboxes/Folder1/Folder2#
ls -l

Default and per-User sieve script
Hi guys,
is there any way to configure Dovecot to process the default sieve
script and, after that, a user specific script?
I have a default script to sort spam into a spam folder but if a
user specific script is present, the default script is ignored.
sieve = ~/.dovecot.sieve
sieve_dir = ~/sieve
sieve_global_path = /usr/local/etc/dovecot/sieve/default.sieve

build system for cutting edge software
Hi,
I use centos as it is stable and provides all the software that is
needed for everyday use.
However, sometimes I would like to use fresh software that is not
available as a package. Compiling from source is indeed an option but
because centos uses oldish sources not only the sought package should
be built but a lot of other packages.
An idea is to build it in a directory, as much

Too stupid for sieve (former maildrop user)
Hello,
I just migrated from Postfix/Courier/Maildrop to
Postfix/Dovecot/Deliver/Sieve and don't unterstand the right syntax
for sieve :(
I searched and found many small examples and many links to the RFC,
but nothing was usefull for me (or i didn't unterstand it)
I installed the latest Dovecot-Sieve (hg).
Examples from my maildrop config:
# Filter FROM
if($E =~ /name at domain1\.tld/)

Problem with quota and mdbox and quota warning
Hi again,
I just recognized that my dovecot forgets the quota for a mailbox.
This is what the maildirsize looks like:
1 read mail present, 1 new/unread mail
2097152S
0 0
909936 1
and later, with 2 read mails:
2097152S
0 0
There are no errors logged.
Moreover, my quota warning script doesn?t work because dovecot doesn?t
recognize my specified folder. I specified

I am trying to get opendkim working with our mailing lists. In the course of
that endeavour I note that these messages are appearing in our syslog:

What causes the quota information to get updated?
Hello,
if new mails arrive, the quota information is updated and reported via
imap immediately. However, after deleting a message, nothing happens.
Even if I delete all messages and the mailbox e.g. was over quota, new
mails won?t be accepted because the mailbox is over quota.
Is this the way it should be or a misconfiguration?

Multiple hosts for pgsql backend?

is it possible to use more than one host with the pgsql backend?
Like this:

I read that this is possible with mysql but I want to use pgsql.

Best way to change index location on mdbox
Hi,
right now my index directory is part of the users home directory:
mail_home = /var/mail/%d/%n
mail_location = mdbox:~/mdbox
I want the indexes to be stored in a different location:
mail_home = /var/mail/%d/%n
mail_location = mdbox:~/mdbox:INDEX=/var/indexes/%d/%n
If I just switch this setting and reload the configuration, no e-mails
are shown to the user.
After restoring the whole maildir

dsync backup doubles quota
Hi everyone,
I recognized a very strange behavior when doing backups of my mdbox
mailboxes. After the backup the quota for each mailbox is twice as much
as before the backup and I have to recalculate the quota to get the
former/correct information.
root at mb01:~# doveadm quota get -u test at example.com
User quota STORAGE 5 10240
User quota MESSAGE 11 -

SSHA256 scheme
Hi again,
I`m a bit confused how to store a SSHA256 password in the database and
I can`t find any information in the wiki.
Do I have to store the SHA256 hash and the salt separately (what would
the password_query be like in this way) or just the final SSHA256 hash?
