Unable to build with working iconv support on Solaris9/x86
Hi all, Have had a frustrating time trying to get R 2.5.1 running happily on Solaris9/x86, the problems seem to stem mainly from libiconv support. After a couple of hours of experimenting, I came across the following combination, note that iconv (the program, but not the library) exists in the Solaris base system, I've manually installed the full GNU distribution in

Compiling v1.3 on different OSes
I was hoping to finally get shared libdovecot.so and libdovecot-storage.so libraries for v1.3, so Sieve (and maybe others) could link against them. But I'm running into trouble getting it to compile in Solaris 10. Could you non-Linux users test if this compiles with you? http://dovecot.org/tmp/dovecot-1.3.UNSTABLE.tar.gz Or if anyone has ideas why this happens, I'd like to know:

Binding with libiconv failed while compiling R-devel on Ubuntu 17.04
Dear everyone, I posted a similar question to Stack Overflow there: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46907554/binding-with-libiconv-failed-while-compiling-r-devel-on-ubuntu-17-04 and I was suggested to post my question here. I tried to compile R devel using Dirk Eddelbuettel's recipe (and many variants of it). Regardless of what I do, I have: === [...]/src/main/sysutils.c:794:

Unable to build R-2.10.0 and later releases on AIX 6.1
Hi, I have been able to build R-2.9.2 on AIX 6.1 and AIX 5.2. However, I failed to build R-2.10.0 and later releases on these AIX platforms. FW: Samba 3.0.11 on AIX 4.3
Eh ... will someone kindly take a look at this? I have "reduced" the mail since it wasn't answered at all since I sent it in a couple of days ago. Thanks. Hi All, Pls has anyone successfully installed Samba 3 on an AIX 4.3 (RS6000) system? The only precompiled binary I was able to find - v 3.0.4 from bullfreeware.com did not work after installation. Simplest (static?) build & config for loopback access?
I am installing Dovecot for the sole purpose of maintaining a local mail store that I could 1) manage with any client; 2) keep duplicated on several machines, using Unison; 3) hopefully, index using Spotlight (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.mh-e.user/1308 ...). In particular, I have no intention to allow connections from anywhere but localhost. I've followed the instructions at

find closest value in a vector based on another vector values
Dear All, would you please provide your thoughts on the following: let us say I have: a <-c(1,5,8,15,32,69) b <-c(8.5,33) and I would like to extract from "a" the two values that are closest to the values in "b", where the length of this vectors may change but b will allways be shorter than "a". So at the end based on this example I should have the result

Hlink node data for 2282618 already has path=...
So, like a lot of people, I am using --link-dest to do backups. My backup target is ext4 so with a hard link limit of 64K. I do end up with trying to create too many links at some point though and get the following sequence of events: rsync: link "/.snapshots/hourly.0/linux/usr/src/openwrt-r18617/build_dir/host/mpfr-2.4.1/tests/.deps/tui_sub.Po" =>

dovecot lda and quota plugin with mysql
Dear all, I have postfix delivering to dovecot lda (via spamassinassin). I have configured the quota plugin, but it does not seem to respect the details in the quota table in mysql. The query I have used looks correct to me, and the user can connect to the database. I wonder if someone might put me straight on the misconfiguration. Best wishes, j. # Relevant portions of dovecot -n:

Help on numerical object and ifelse function
Dear All,   this is probably an easy one but I can not get a handle on it:   x <-c(1,2,3,4,5) y <-c(6,7,8,9,10) z <-15 w <-ifelse(z>14,x,y)   this will give me a value of 1 for w. What I would like to get is the whole string of x, so that w would become a numeric object of 5 characters exactly the same as x.   Apreciate the help,   Sincerely,   Andras [[alternative HTML version

Build R static
Hi, I am having trouble building R static on Solaris 5.10. I have a requirement to run R within a specific user account on Solaris 5.10 and I do not have access to compilers and or shared libraries on the target machine. I thought I could build R static ( I've build it locally on Solaris with shared libraries) and just ftp the build to the target Solaris box. Can any help with what

krb5 library issues when Compiling 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3
I have been trying to configure/compile Samba 3.5.2 and 3.4.7 on AIX 5.3 with ML-11 and ML-10. The configure issues that I am getting only occur if I use --with-ads. I can run configure on both versions if I do not include ADS support. The errors I get are: checking for krb5_principal_get_realm... no checking for krb5_princ_realm... no configure: WARNING: krb5_mk_req_extended not found in
