doveadm "-S <socket_path>" option enabled in 2.0.8?
I apologize if this is a stupid question but I just compiled 2.0.8 and am trying to use doveadm to get the quota for a user using the -S <socket_path> option because I have different options for the various local IPs that dovecot listens on. For example, my default quota is filesystem (NFS rquota) and I can get that by doing: doveadm quota get -u warden which tells me: Quota name

multi-instance doveadm user -m woes
I'm having difficulty with the doveadm who command on a multi-instance setup of dovecot. When I run the who command on the non-standard instance with the -m flag (to see their mail location), this happens: [root at wardentest3 dovecot]# doveadm -i mailtest user -m warden doveadm(root): Error: user warden: Initialization failed: Namespace 'INBOX.': Ambiguous mail location setting,

stats + fts squat plugins, indexer-worker error on message indexing
On RHEL 6.2 + dovecot 2.1.5 with the stats and fts (squat) plugins enabled and each user having their own uid on the system I get the following error in the logs when the indexer-worker process indexes some messages: Apr 25 09:56:19 wardentest3 dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=warden, method=PLAIN, rip=137.238.60.164, lip=137.238.2.240, lport=1993, mpid=19464, encryption=TLS Apr 25 09:56:26

FTS and compound searches
Hello, New subscriber here. I noticed that the FTS index is not used in compound searches. Is this expected? Tested in 2.0.0 and 2.0.8: . search BODY "waldo" * SEARCH . OK Search completed (0.000 secs). . SEARCH CHARSET UTF-8 OR SUBJECT "waldo" FROM "waldo" * SEARCH . OK Search completed (1.768 secs). . SEARCH CHARSET UTF-8 OR SUBJECT "waldo" BODY

FTS index generation
Hi folks. I'm experimenting with the Squat plugin. I can execute search commands via direct interaction with IMAP, but I never see the expected dovecot.index.search index file appear in the spool. I'm concerned that I've misconfigured something that is preventing the creation of those indices. Is there a facility to have the squat plugin generate debugging messages so I

doveadm search doesn't update fts
Hello, Doveadm search is failing to update our Squat indexes. The search itself works fine but the dovecot.index.search* files remain unchanged. I tried: doveadm search -u test mailbox INBOX body sometext doveadm search -u test mailbox INBOX text sometext I also tried the exact syntax Timo expressed in an earlier post: doveadm search -A body asdf If I run the same search through IMAP, the

FTS and compound searches

I know this thread is quite old, but we have the same issue with v2.0.14 and squat. Would this issue also affect the Solr FTS backend? Thanks, Nikolai.

slow squat fts index creation
Hi all, ive been playing with squat indexes. Up to about 300.000 emails in a single mailbox this was working flawlessly. The search index file is about 500MB at that time. Ive now added some more emails, and at 450.000 or so emails im seeing a serious problem with squat index creation. It takes...f o r e v e r . The .tmp file is being so slowly, it will probably take 2-3 hours to create. Upto

Full text search indexing
There are now two full text search backends in CVS HEAD: - squat: My own full text search index based on ideas from Cyrus Squat indexes. Supports substring searches. - lucene: Uses CLucene library. It should be pretty easy to add support for more backends. As I've explained a couple of times already, IMAP RFC says that searches are done by matching substrings, so the Lucene backend

Shared Squat index for public mailboxes
Hi, I'm running Dovecot 1.2.17 for serving mail via IMAP as well as for providing access to a mailing list archive. The archive is implemented as a public read-only mailbox with per-user index files (i.e. the \Seen flags are per-user). I recently enbled the Squat plugin to accelerate searches in the message bodies and noticed that every user (I'm using a virtual user setup) gets his

FTS what to use ?
Hi I'm currently using dovecot 2.0 with squat fts which does a nice job. However I'm thinking about upgrading to dovecot 2.1 and the wiki isn't clear about which fts can or should be used with it. Is squat support dead ? As the wiki mentions that the config syntax is obsolete, I'm not sure if squat is obsolete also ? If not, what is the new syntax ? But in the case squat is

[2.3.4] Segmentation faults
Thanks for mySql For Squat vs Solr, Solr does not reach Squat by very far in terms of results : If I setup Solr, and search (via the search in Roundbube or Evolution) for a keyword or part of the keyword, the results are complete non sense. The diference between "search in full body" and "search in fields" does not even work. Solr with Dovecot seems very early beta

Dovecot v2.2 FTS is not indexing "text/html" emails...
Hi, I am not sure its intended or a fault in the newest Dovecot versions. I have been using Dovecot v1.2.15 on Debian squeeze and FTS is working as expected. When I search a quoted string "very good", I get 107 results including plain and HTML emails which have this phrase. In order to compare the benefits of lucene over squat, I recently started testing dovecot v2.2.13 on Debian Sid

I'm having trouble with Routes II
I have narrowed my problem in a prior topic (I''m having trouble with Routes) to the fact that I get the problem, below only when I reload my page. Clicking on links to go to the pages I want ... I seem not to have problems. Given that it seems to be a reload that is generating an "/undefined" path somewhere ... can anyone suggest what I should be looking for to fix the
