Dear All, Thanks ofr the great job so far. I have crawled the doc & web, and did not find oh to check for the presence of a folder ina? a mailbox? I know about "fileinto :create" of course, but the purpose is slightly different: I want to automate the move into a folder based on some rules but *only if* an associated folder is present (which name is based on the rule),

sieve fileinto rule (pigeonhole)
Hello, i discovered that when a sieve rule "fileinto drawer;" tries to deliver a mail into a non existent drawer, the drawer gets created. This is neat, but is there also a way to automatically subcribe to the created folder ? Regards, Oliver Eales

[Pigeonhole Sieve interpreter] :create argument and lda_mailbox_autosubscribe setting
Hi, I am using dovecot and dovecot-sieve packages from Debian Wheezy (2.1.7-7+deb7u1). I noticed that while using ":create" (from the mailbox extension) in my Sieve filter and "lda_mailbox_autosubscribe = yes" in Dovecot's LDA config it automatically subscribes to the destination mailbox even if that mailbox already existed. Reading Dovecot's documentation and the

v1.2.rc5 imap ignores configuration reloads
Hi Timo, after changing the mail_executable in the imap {?} section I have to restart Dovecot v1.2.rc5, otherwise the changes are not accepted. With Dovecot v1.1.x (tested with v1.1.11 and v1.1.16) it's enough to send a SIGHUP to the dovecot process. Regards, Pascal -- The trapper recommends today: c01dcofe.0916521 at localdomain.org

Sieve: unknown tagged argument ':create' for the fileinto command
Hello, I've upgraded from dovecot 1.2.x with sieve to dovecot 2.0.11 with sieve. I've noticed that folders are no more created at delivery time now. I've read that I have to do two things: lda_mailbox_autocreate = yes in dovecot.conf and fileinto :create in the sieve script. Now the error message I receive is: error: unknown tagged argument ':create' for the fileinto

Deliver virtual user's mail to a specific namespace?
Hello: I have virtual users set up for the various mailing lists that I subscribe to. Everything has been working well in both Postfix and Dovecot. Postfix is configured to deliver to a specific mbox file within my mbox mail root. I can access retrieve and read email via Dovecot without any issues. Now I want to make my setup more robust and have these messages delivered to a maildir

dsync convert Maildir -> mdbox, separators in subscriptions file
Hello, I'm playing around with Dovecot 2.0 beta 4. If I use dsync to convert a users mail stored in Maildir format to mdbox format, the subscriptions file in the new mdbox is created using the wrong mailbox separator ('.') leading to folders within folders not being readable by clients using the subscription feature. Excerpt from IMAP: . LIST "" "*" * LIST

v1.2.12 and debug
Is there some kind of extended debug that might show why my maildir is not foundat login? It has worked off and on, once briefly today then no more. I'm going around twiddling knobs guessing at this point which is foolish. I need some real bread crumbs to indicate what is going wrong. I've tried all kinds of .conf file ... example file etc. I figured using the least number of settings

Dovecot LDA
OK, I did read <http://wiki2.dovecot.org/LDA> but it doesn't answer the question I have since it doesn't tell me what I can do with -o, exactly. What I would like to do is be able to call dovecot-lda and pass along '\\Seen', is that possible? -- Up the airy mountains, down the rushy glen... As this repo stuff is mostly bleeding edge, I noticed that the systemd service file needs to be modified to allow coredumps. Not sure how it is supposed to interact with the file /etc/default/dovecot and its ALLOW_COREDUMPS=1 variable, but one

nested folders
using both thunderbird and roundcube with dovecot IMAP, I can create all the folders I desire, but cannot create subfolders; I also cannot delete a folder once created. I get a very un-informative error message from each. Is there a special setting required to permit sub-folder creation? folder deletion? I've got 770 mail:mail virtual_user_home 770 mail:mail mail_sub-directory

I have just set up a mail server on Ubuntu, using Postfix and Dovecot 2.0.19. It works well but I can't get Sieve working. I always get the error that the target mailbox doesn't exist. In fact it doesn't but isn'r Dovecot supposed to create it? Here is my doveconf -n: # 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 Ubuntu 12.04 LTS mail_debug = yes

Problem with dovecot-sieve and russian
Hello I have a problem with dovecot-sieve. When I create a folder in russian, the filter is not working properly. It creates a new folder with the same name and delivers the letter there. For example, I created a folder called &BD8EQAQ4BDIENQRC-/, but the letter got in &-BD8EQAQ4BDIENQRC-/. In all cases, the difference in the sign -. The folders in the english language is no problem. #
