Dovecot 1.2/2.0 coexistence guide?
I am running Dovecot 1.2.16 and considering moving up to 2.0.8.
I have found <http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Upgrading/2.0> but there's
not a lot about deploying a 2.0 server alongside an existing 1.2.
Any hints on a seamless approach to this, especially one that might
allow me to upgrade individual users in place, without moving their
maildirs into a new tree and still avoid issues with

Released Pigeonhole v0.2.2 for Dovecot v2.0.8
Hello Dovecot users,
The new Dovecot v2.0.8 release has a few changes that prompted changes
in Pigeonhole as well. This means that a new release of Pigeonhole is
also necessary, because otherwise things will not compile anymore.
Apart from a few rather minor bugfixes, some of which originate in
Dovecot, one TODO item has finally been resolved: the reject action uses
the LDA mail reject API,

Crash in 2.0.8 dovecot/imap - information capture
My dovecot logs revealed a crash in the dovecot/imap process a few
days ago. It appears to have dereferenced 0x00000004 in the storage
shared lib. Unfortunately, I didn't get a core and I'm not sure how
to reproduce it. Dovecot 2.0.8 on linux32.
Two questions:
1) How can I be sure I get a core next time? I think it's because I
run dovecot/imap under a mail uid and didn't have

Potential bug report: Cannot use ":args" option via Pigeonhole Sieve pipe plugin
Hi all,
Following the instructions noted at
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Pigeonhole/Sieve/Plugins/Pipe , I am trying to
make use of the Pigeonhole sieve pipe plugin to execute an application with
custom arguments via my test sieve script:
require ["vnd.dovecot.pipe"];

dovecot-2.0-pigeonhole/ManageSieve: wrong service name
Hi Stephan,
ManageSieve uses the wrong? service name for the authdb lookup.
With dovecot-1.2-managesieve the service name was changed from
'managesieve' to 'sieve'. So I altered my table layout in order to make
the query "SELECT userid AS "user", password FROM dovecotpassword('%Ln',
'%Ld') WHERE %Ls" work again.
When I try to login on the sieve

That project forked, and there are two versions now. They have
subtly different configuration parameters, which trips folks up.

Compiler warnings in dovecot-2.1.2 and pigeonhole 0.3.0
I'm seeing a few warnings emitted when building for x86. They're pretty
obvious, but if you want the configure options etc, I can provide those.
In Dovecot 2.1.2 (I also see some of these in 2.1.1):

Released Pigeonhole Sieve v0.1.14 and ManageSieve v0.11.10 for Dovecot v1.2.9
Hello Dovecot users,
Due to personal matters I haven't had time to do anything in the last
few weeks. Before that I provided some pre-releases and since nobody
indicated problems with those, I release them definitively now. I hope
the shit storm has blown over, so that I can dedicate more of my time
towards Pigeonhole development.

model seleciton by leave-one-out cross-validation
Hi, all
When I am using mle.cv(wle), I find a interesting problem: I can't do
leave-one-out cross-validation with mle.cv(wle). I will illustrate the
problem as following:
> xx=matrix(rnorm(20*3),ncol=3)
> bb=c(1,2,0)
> yy=xx%*%bb+rnorm(20,0,0.001)+0
> summary(mle.cv(yy~xx,split=nrow(xx)-1,monte.carlo=2*nrow(xx),verbose=T),
num.max=1)[[1]]

Upgrade from 1.2.16 with sieve/managesieve to 2.0.8 with pigeonhole
Hi,
I would like to upgrade my server from 1.2.16 with sieve and managesieve
to 2.0.8 with pigeonhole. Will I get all functionality I was having
before? Should this migration be painless or will it require some
additional work?
I've read the Upgrading guide so I know I need to create an additional
user. I've migrated the mails from Maildir to dbox in the past (using

MANAGESIEVE patch v5 for dovecot 1.0.2
Hello dovecot users,
I have finally updated the MANAGESIEVE patch to fix the currently known
small problems with the protocol implementation. Also, I included a
proxy implementation based on imap-proxy.c. This patch is designed for
dovecot release 1.0.2 and it will not apply cleanly to the 1.1 versions
yet.

new Dovecot 2.0.8 installation on Opensuse 11.3
I got the error "lmtp (xxx at mydomain.yy): Error: user xxx at mydomain.yy:
Initialization failed: Namespace '': mbox: mbox requires client_limit=1
for service" while trying to transfer mails by lmtp from postfix to dovecot.
I googled and looked on the dovecot wiki about this client_limit issue,
but no success.

Having combed through the changefile from kernel.org it seems to me that

Samba server visibility
I must be missing something somewhere. I can't get our Samba server
to show up when I look in Network Neighborhood under XP. If I type in
\\servername\path, it won't find it, however if I use the IP, it works fine.
Now, experience tells me that I'm having to type the IP because it's
not resolving the name. Well fine, I can fix that, however I don't
recall doing that
