Im using centos 4.5 and bind 9.2.4-27.0.1.el4, im having a problem propagating updates on domains. when i update the main NS the secondary and tertiary doesn't update automatically. i need to delete the <domain>.zone file in the secondary and tertiary to get update from the main NS. I don't where's the problem i don't get any errors i just dont get the AXFR when the don't

Hi Robert, yes it does work. But the DLZ bind will not notify any slaves, when the repository changes. This can be painful, especially for longer TTL values. Regards, - lars. Has anyone ever mounted their /var/lib/mysql on a tmpfs or ramfs? Are there any performance gains to be made doing this? TIA

I am about to lease another server to be a backup web/mail server with a replicated mysql database. The current live server is a dual Xeon 2.8Ghz. Would I do better to get another Xeon server or an Opteron based server? My concerns are compatibility of the database and the SSL certificate currently running on the Xeon machine. Anybody knows if the Bind version on CentOS 4.4 (9.2.4) has issues with doing reverse DNS for subnets? (networks smaller than /24) I keep a reverse DNS /26 subnet on Bind 9.3.1 (Fedora) and it works fine. Hi folks, I've already configured split DNS for internal-view and external-view. Also already configured the master - slave dns. But i've problem with external-view zone transfer. Based on the logs, the master notify to slave using the public ip, which is not accessible by master to transfering the zone over public ip. Is it possible to transfer zone over local ip for external-view ?
